A overview of one of the most recent PSP video games - God of War : Chains of Olympus

Chains of Olympus sees the cruel god-like Kratos back in action. Set as a precursor to the God of War II for the PS2, the game is set halfway through Kratos' ten year tenure to the Gods. Greatly appreciated by both loyal fans and critics for the game's fantastic graphics and gameplay, the game in no way delivers a lifeless moment right through its taut story line.

Gameplay :
In God of War, Kratos, after being tricked into killing his wife and child commits himself to the service of the gods for many years to follow. The God of War series has Kratos, already halfway thru his service, being directed to the traditional city of Attica, to help look after the town from the invading Persian army. Upon defeating the Persian King, the sun unexpectedly sets. With the entire globe dropped into dark and the gods rendered defenseless, Kratos must now set out on a quest to revive Helios back to the heavens to fulfill his promise to the gods. In order to be successful he must now tackle some of the most scary creatures of Greek myths before being faced with the enormous quandary of selecting between his very own salvation and saving the whole ancient world from eradication.

The game is a 3rd person action adventure with combat, with the contestant having the ability to take the part of the lead figure, Kratos. The game features 4 boss fights in all : the basilisk, Charon, Persephone and the Persian king. Not very much has changed for the Psp version of the well-liked God of War series. Kratos still carries his key weaponry and collects red orbs to power up his abilities.

Verdict :
Moving away from the well known style of games for handhelds, Ready at Dawn has managed to form a game with astounding visualisation and a fantastic story. Even if the omitted multiplayer mode could be a turnoff for some, the game still is able to provoke on account of the diverse additional features like the camera angles and built in puzzles. The game is a total must buy for any Playstation portable fanatic.
