Big names this week. Clint Dempsey scored a goal and an assist for Seattle Sounders FC when they won over the expansion New York City FC 1-3 on Sunday. In six matches this season, the 32 year-old has scored five goals and three assists.
As for the title race in Spain, the leaders FC Barcelona and the runners-up Real Madrid both won last Saturday. FC Barcelona crushed Cordoba 0-8 with a hat-trick by Luis Suarez. Later that evening, Real Madrid left Seville with a 2-3 victory over Sevilla FC. Cristiano Ronaldo earned himself a hat trick, then followed that up on Tuesday, scoring his club's only goal in their 2-1 loss to Juventus.
