WWE 2012 received mixed to positive reviews from the critics. Giving 9/10, IGN wrote that WWE 2012 had breathed life into its major mechanic and that the changes & improvements are just spectacular. G$ stated that it was the best ever wrestling game then. Giving 6.7/10, Andy Hartup said that it is a fresh picture drawn on an old portrait. Dan Ryckert stated that it is the weakest of all in the series, with no improvements in it.

Like old days, wrestlers enter into the ring & clash against each other brutally. As it comes to any improvement in the animation, there is no such thing one is jubilant for. On the contrary, the flow in the wrestling remains unchanged. It is to note that the moves are disrupted, and attacks remain halted. This happens when more than two wrestlers enter into the ring. We must hail THQ who gave away a new life to the series by putting their tireless efforts. What they have done specially is give a combat a natural flow. The flow that is not only qualitative but also real. As compare to the predecessors, THQ has given a masterpiece to its audience. They did retain and try hard to improve the presentation of the game and they remained successful to a great extent. Now watching & playing wrestling is not out of reach!
