The Diablo 3 RoS community has all its eyes on the PTR--watching out for new Legendary items, new mechanics and the dreaded nerfs. While a lot of items and skills have gotten boosts and cool new stats, some of the most important and game-changing skills and items have been nerfed.
Let's look at how the Depth Diggers, a staple for Wizards and Witch Doctors, have been powered-down:
Depth Diggers usually worked for Wizards and Witch Doctors who cast their signature spells. These spells do give back some of their resources (not as much as their actual resource generators), thus the trousers do give massive damage boosts.
With the new Diablo 3 RoS PTR tweak, Wizard and Witch Doctor signature spells no longer benefit from the Depth Digger bonus.
As expected, a wave of complaints and cries of outrage swept the forums and Reddit. Blizzard has responded and said that they changed the mechanic so that builds would diversify and players are able to work different builds instead of relying solely on one skill that's enhanced by Depth Diggers. Other players argue that it's limiting their capacities.
What do you think?
Now for the next nerf which caught my attention, my beloved Exploding Palm.
Before PTR tweaks, the monk INVIS used the skill's property to deliver 50% of the maximum opponent's life when the monster explodes. Now, the mechanic has been nerfed to only deal up to 6305%. The mechanic of using the monster's life no longer applies on any of the runes.
Suffice to say, this has certainly changed the whole game that monks play and affects their role greatly when Diablo 3 RoS Patch 2.1 goes live.
