A Comparison for RuneScape 2H Weapons and RuneScape Dual Wield

Since a lot of players are confused about runescape 2H weapons and RuneScape dual wield, here is a comparison of each style for those two made by a player. Come to see whether you agree or not.

Universal differences between Dual Wield and 2H weapon in rs

Dual Wield:
1. "Fastest" speed weapons allow for extra hits if an ability which does not do damage is used, such as Freedom, Anticipate, or Berserk. This also builds 2% adrenaline, allowing for 1 less ability to be used before a threshold.
2. Ability to wear a shield.
2H weapons:
1. Higher damage for an auto attack (particularly the first one used before any abilities)
2. One click to switch weapons, particularly useful in hybrid/tribrid situations.
3. One less item to protect.

Differences in melee between Dual Wield and 2H weapon in rs

Dual Weild:
1. Has access to Destroy, Havoc, and Decimate, which are all abilities allowing very high single-target DPS.
2. Cheaper option at level 90 at the moment.
2H weapons:
1. More AoE abilties - Cleave, Hurricane, and Quake.
2. Has quake for reducing defence.
If you know you're only fighting a single target, or if your targets aren't packed around you, pick dual wield. The DPS it has is higher overall than 2H. However, if you have a bunch of enemies surrounding you, want to drain defence, want a single-click-switch or like Legacy pking, pick the 2H.
Typically, you'll want higher DPS, which dual wield can offer. The only places the 2 handers are recommended is at Tormented Demons and Dagannoth Kings.

Differences in ranged between Dual Wield and 2H weapon in rs

Dual Wield:
1. Has Needle Shot, which increases damage of the next attack by 5%.
2. Has the better ultimate - Unload
2H weapons:
1. Has Dazing Shot, which can decrease the opponent's accuracy slightly.
2. Longer range attacks
3. More options for weapons, also usually the cheaper one.
If you need a shield or want to deal more damage, pick dual wield. While if you want longer range, pick 2H.
The differences are very minuscule between 2 handers and dual wield for range's case. There are very few cases in which you'd need a 2 hander's range over dual wield's DPS.

Differences in magic between Dual Wield and 2H weapon in rs

Dual Wield: Faster debuffs, since auto-attack speed is higher.
2H weapons: Has Sonic Wave, which increases accuracy of the next attack by 10%. Sonic wave also has 1.75% more ability damage in the same amount of time than Concentrated Blast.
Like range, it's a very small difference between the two. However, they each have situations where they are better than the other.
Dual wield is better where you need to debuff the opponent or wear a shield. Nex, Vorago and Kalphite King are the main examples where dual wield have the advantage. In places where debuffs aren't exactly necessary and you are only using abilities and DPSing, 2-handers are better.
