Elder Scrolls Online PS4 and Xbox One: Troubles in Tamriel Unlimited hits launch

ELDER Scrolls Online for PS4 and Xbox One launched today but some player found themselves left to wait a little longer to start their adventures.

UPDATE: Aside from the Log in problems facing users across the EU and North America, several other issues have been confirmed to be affecting The Elder Scrolls Online, something the support team say is actively being looked into.

Users who have found themselves unable to use the full perks from the Explorer's Pack, a pre-order bonus, have been told to hold tight while it is investigated.

THe ESO team are also aware of another bug that sees some NPCs (such as Lyris Titanborn) go invisible for some console players. This can prevent interaction with them and hinder progress in the game.

Other users have reported being kicked for message spamming, even though they have yet to send one.

Error 318 flashes on the screen when the player has reached their message rate limit and usually involves being kicked from the server.

Keyboard's failing to appear so an email address can be entered has been confirmed to be affecting both PS4 and Xbox One users.

UPDATE: The Elder Scrolls Online support team have posted new information on the on-going issues some players are currently facing on the Xbox One and PS4.

"We are continuing to investigate the issue some players are encountering when they attempt to log into ESOTU on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One," the message reads

"Console players who receive the error message, "Login Failed: An unexpected internal error has occurred. Please contact customer service at help.elderscrollsonline.com." should do the following:

If you are trying to log into the NA megaserver:

Switch to the EU megaserver
Log into the EU megaserver and accept the legal agreements as prompted
Log out of the EU megaserver and switch back to the NA megaserver
Log into the NA megaserver

Servers for the game launched at midnight but went offline in some area to make way for maintenance that affected PS4 users.

UPDATE: A new message from the Elder Scrolls Online dev team has given an update on the cause of the log in failures that occurred earlier today, putting it down to a server surge cause by the amount of people trying to access the game at the sametime late last night.

The message reads: We did identify the root cause of this issue (basically, we just had a bunch of people hitting the server all at once!) and there should be minimal login issues at this time.

If you continue to experience a problem logging in, please keep trying and you will eventually get in. Thanks again for your patience last night and this morning!

Servers went live earlier this morning, following a big build up from Bethesda on the release of the MMO game on the new-gen consoles.

However, some fans were left waiting to join the action after receiving "an unexpected internal error" message when trying to start Elder Scrolls Online.

The Express can confirm that the problems reported in the United States look to have been resolved, with server access now possible on the Xbox One.

A message from the team regarding the issues reads: "Hey everyone. If you have been experiencing login errors, we ask that you please try to log into the console megaservers again. While we are continuing to work on resolving the issue, we have found that the issue has been fixed for some players at this point.

"We will continue to work on this until it's resolved for all players, and we'll provide an update when we can. Thank you again for your patience throughout the night."

Some fans are still reporting issues connected with playing the game via the PSN.

One user wrote at 3pm UK time: "Still can't log in on the PS4 NA server. Not the happiest right now.

While another added: "Same here, still not been sent a new verification email, would like to try and play the game now."

Problems logging into European servers hit last night, with maintenance now complete, and European PS4 megaserver confirmed to be back online and available.
