Making Bank in Cityville: How Can I Get More Coins and Gold In CityVille

CityVille is a cool game for the amateur architect and planner. You get to plan and design a city of your own and you will find that, even in a game, building a beautiful city with happy citizens is hard work! At times it makes you wonder how real cities ever were completed. In addition to all the planning, you have to fund the growth of your city. Just as in real life, the hardest part seems to be making bank. In Cityville, to make coins and gold you grow goods, help neighbors and buy the best businesses that you can to collect maximum profit.

I know it sounds simple enough but it’s harder than you think. I’ve chatted with some of my neighbors and they to find themselves struggling to make enough money. Once you have saved up and added population to get a new business, you look over to the side and your community is unhappy. When the people are unhappy, just like in real life, the entire community suffers and not much progress is made towards goals until improvements are made. So how can you get more money to buy community buildings, keep the citizens happy and still have money left for new businesses and decorations? The first way, of course, is to visit your neighbors. In a matter of minutes you can have more money, crops and energy. The coins collected from neighbors will give you a slight boost in cash but that alone will not fund your city.

To have a truly successful city that brings home the bacon, so to speak, you have to plan for all aspects of the game. Only buy as many community buildings as you need. Don’t buy the next one just because it looks cool if you don’t have the population demand. It’s a much better idea to buy decorations to increase the payout of your businesses. The planting and harvesting also has to be planned. Don’t plant the one-hour eggplant if you can’t get back to your computer for eight hours. You may as well not waste your money because by the time you get back, your crops have expired and are just brown patches of ugliness that you have to spend an energy point to clear. The main goal here is to balance making money and keeping your people happy.

Mirroring the real world once again, you’ll find that the higher you go and the larger your city becomes, the easier it is to make bank. The flip side is that it will also cost more to keep those demanding citizens happy. When you implement the right strategies, like balancing crop production with the number of businesses, you’ll see how much easier it is to keep everyone happy, make money and level up.

Overall, mastering CityVille is all about strategy. Once you find the right techniques you’ll be leveling faster checking it once or twice a day than the people who spend ten hours on the game without leaving!
