Physics And A Game?

So, I like to call myself a “gamer,” whatever that truly means, yet when I saw this new game, I was immediately hooked. It is called Machines Planet, and has an interesting and compelling mix of physics with pure fun. Essentially, you get to build wacky and weird “killing machines” and battle against (and kill) funny zombies; what isn’t fun about that? And for you physics geeks out there (like me), you get to use your science skills to find the plethora of different ways to complete the levels. But don’t worry, if you’re not a fan of Physics, then you can still play this game and be more than entertained with the thousands of different solutions for each level. The other great thing about it, is there are hardly any flaws at all! If you look at the FAQ on the website, the only questions you see deal with user flaws, not the game flaws! This shows that the game is here to stay!

Before I first played the game, the game’s website proved to be an incredible magnet, as I was immediately keen on finding out more about the game, and playing it. Their funny yet extremely well done header/logo depicts the overall point and goal of the game: build one heck of a machine and kill as many goofy zombies as possible. In this day and age, what could be better?

What do you need in order to play it? Essentially nothing! Just login to your Facebook account (who doesn’t have one of those, these days!?) and bam! The game automatically loads, and begins teaching you how to play. Within seconds, you are already creating your own machine that will soon engage, tackle, ram, hit, destroy and kill all the zombies in your path. As the game’s website states, you can come at the zombies with “Monster-trucks, tanks, catapults, flying machines with military equipment or build something totally new.” Moreover, the importance of physics is implemented, and the game boasts its ability to have thousands of different outcomes, some of which are resultant from minuscule changes in your design.

At this point, I need to question why you are still reading this article, and haven’t already searched for this game and begun playing it. You don’t like Physics? You don’t need to be good in Physics in order to win this game; simply realize that a lot of the game’s intricate details are derived from Physics principles. The ability to have thousands of different outcomes in each level is what makes this game unique, especially unique when compared to other online games. You don’t have a Facebook account? Make one! It takes about 5 seconds, and you can begin finding your friends on Facebook as well!

Machines Planet is a work of genius; excellently programmed, nearly flawless in design and game play, and undoubtedly and unequivocally addicting. I’m glad that I’ve reached the end of this article, because now I get to go play it some more! Come join me, lets be Machines Planet addicts together!
