Three Interesting and Cool Online Games

Left 4 Dead by Valve was released on November 13, 2008 in the U.S. and November 21, 2008 in Europe. It can be found from 40 to 60 dollars. The game is a huge hit online, due to the fact that anything zombie is hot with the gaming crowd and that it features unique online play. What separates Left 4 Dead from other games is that it relies very heavily on cooperation between players. If the players don’t work together, then they will not survive. There are two main modes of play online. There’s the standard campaign mode where up to four players team up to make it to an escape vehicle. Alternatively, there’s the versus mode where eight players square off against each other. Each side takes turns being either the human survivors or the special infected zombies.

There are a few complaints for the game Left 4 Dead by Valve. The first is that the game has a limited selection of weapons. Another more important issue is that there is rampant glitching online in the versus mode. Many players consider some of the glitches that can be performed as cheating. If you can get a group of friends together and fight against another group who plays fair, the online play can be rewarding.

Gears of War 2 by Epic Games is another extremely popular online game. Released on November 7, 2008, it features a solid story mode and solid online play and can be purchased for around 60 dollars. There are several types of online play. Most of it involves fighting another team of players for possession of territory, elimination of all enemy players, or a “capture the flag” type of mission. The online combat is tough and it may take awhile for a new player to get used to the controls and style of play before they will be successful.

One of the most popular game types that were introduced in Gears of War 2 is the Horde mode. Horde mode has up to five players cooperating together to defeat up to fifty waves of computer controlled enemies. You can play online with random people or host your own match with friends, either way it offers a solid experience online.

Call of Duty: World at War is another first person shooter that follows in the footsteps of the hugely successful Call of Duty 4. World at War was developed by Treyarch and released throughout November of 2008 worldwide and can be purchased for around 60 dollars. Unlike CoD 4 which took place in the modern age, this game has players fighting in World War II. World at War is appealing to fans of CoD 4, because there are similar rewards for players as they progress online. While many of the weapons in the game are comparable to those found in other WW II shooters, World at War features bayonets and flame throwers. In addition, the game is much gorier this time around with characters losing limbs and spewing blood.

The online play is fast and addictive. In addition to regular multiplayer brawls and story mode co-op, the game features a unique Nazi Zombie mode. Much like the Horde mode in Gears of War 2, Nazi Zombies allows players to try to defend a house against hordes of Nazis who have become undead.
