Call of Duty: World at War is another first person shooter that follows in the footsteps of the hugely successful Call of Duty 4. Unlike CoD 4 which took place in the modern age, this game has players fighting in World War II. World at War is appealing to fans of CoD 4, because there are similar rewards for players as they progress online. While many of the weapons in the game are comparable to those found in other WW II shooters, World at War features bayonets and flame throwers. In addition, the game is much gorier this time around with characters losing limbs and spewing blood.
The online play is fast and addictive. In addition to regular multiplayer brawls and story mode co-op, the game features a unique Nazi Zombie mode. Much like the Horde mode in Gears of War 2, Nazi Zombies allows players to try to defend a house against hordes of Nazis who have become undead.
