The Rift Plans of Telara Classes aren’t hard to understand. The class system in Rift is diverse but not complicated. The first thing you should know about is the four main classes. These Rift classes are Mage, Warrior, Cleric, and Rogue. You choose one of these classes when you create your first character in Rift.
These classes may not seem that exciting but the Rift class system allows you to customize your character further by the Rift soul tree system. In this system each Rift class gets to chose between three of the nine souls available to their class. In traditional RPGs you would typically just choose one of these classes but in Rift they are considered souls and these souls give you abilities from a specific class.
Each Rift soul tree gives you a number of talents to choose from in order to boost your characters abilities. These are essential for leveling up. Make sure that you are always spending your talent points each level that they become available to you.
You can take on new souls by doing the quest for them. The quests for new Rift souls are usually pretty easy and can be completed in about an hour. If at any point you would like to change your Rift souls it is fairly easy to do so. The Rift soul tree system allows you to switch between four different soul layouts or specs. This makes it easy to try out new souls for different class rolls such as dps, healer, tank, and PvP.
Before choosing your main Rift class in Planes of Telara you should take a brief look at the souls available for that class. You might be surprised to find that the souls for each class can give some variety to what seems to be a pretty dull class description.
Most people know the roll of each of the four basic Rift classes so I won't go into depth but I will point out a few things you may not know. Warriors for example can pick up the beastmaster soul. This souls gives the warrior an almost druid quality. Also players may not be familiar with a battle cleric type soul which allows a cleric class to be in face-to-face combat while still remaining a good support class.
These are just a few points to think about before choosing any of the Rift Planes of Telara classes. I hope you have enjoyed this mini Rift classes guide and continue to read more about the Rift soul trees before finaly choosing on your characters class.
