Batman: Arkham City

Wow, if you have read my article on Super Smash Brothers Melee, then you remember me stating that it was one of the best video games I have ever played. Well this game(by far) is the best game I have ever played. For all of you Batman fan's you are in luck, the caped crusader is back and the game play in this video game is better than ever. This 2011 follow of the 2009 Batman: Gotham City features new game play, a more free play style of gaming as well as side stories as well as more un-lockable characters who have their own story lines. After reading this article I hope that you will fully understand just how much fun this game really was and also get a better idea of how far video games have come since the 90's.

Batman Arkham City.

This is your classic beat em up game. The basic idea is, your are Batman and have been locked away in Arkham City's Asylum with the city's most dangerous villains. Your job is to save the inmates while you defeat the villains within the asylum. The thing I love about this game is its free flow system. In video games a free flowing system is gameplay which allows the user to travel around to any destination he or she desires(within the realms of the game), without having to following a path or a strict plot line. The benefit of this is it allows you to play side missions or just stop every day crime. In his never ending battle against crime and the forces of evil Batman has plenty of gadgets at his disposal that help him, uncover clues and fight the "baddies".

Gadgets.

Batman has a lot of similar gadgets found in Batman Arkham Asylum and some new advanced ones as well. In this game Batman is equipped with gadgets such as: smoke pellets to distract enemies, a taser gun, Bat-a-rang(but of course), explosive gels(to help clear blocked routes and ice grenades to freeze enemies in their tracks. These will become increasingly helpful as your game play advances. Similar to all great games this game does a great job on keeping your interest peaked(and even leaving you a little perplexed at times).

With all the great gadgets and features available on this gaming system it is no wonder why this game received such high accolades. Some of its awards were, Best Original Scores, Best Graphics, Trailer of the year, as well as numerous others. I must attest that all the hard work and labor put into this game was not in vain, this truly is(in my humble opinion) the best game ever!
