Geeky Board Games For 2 Players

Do you need help finding geeky board games for 2 players? Are you buying for a geek and just don't know what to get? Are you a geek and just looking for some ideas? Well, I'm a geek and I can help you with some suggestions. I've compiled a list of 3 top geek games to help you out.

1.) Lord of the Rings LCG

Does your geek like Lord of the Rings? What geek doesn't? Lord of the Rings LCG is a card based board game that is for 2-4 players. It's a co-op game so the players work together to fight the evil quests that the game throws at you.

With the core boxed set players will be able to fight through 3 different quests and they get to play as their favorite heroes from the books to do it. This game has a near infinite life span and is constantly being expanded on. If your geek likes it, you will be able to get him or her expansions for years to come.

2.) Marvel Legendary

Is your geek more into superheroes than Lord of the Rings? Well, then get the Marvel Legendary game for them. Marvel Legendary is a board game for 1-5 players (yes it can be played by yourself). In this game the players take on the evil Masterminds of the Marvel Universe like Magneto, Loki, Red Skull, and Dr. Doom.

The players will use hero cards made up of their favorite Marvel Heroes like the Avengers, X-Men, Hulk, Spiderman, etc. Those hero cards will give them the power they need to attack the Mastermind and his evil henchmen to win the day.

This game is also different every time you play it. Between the 4 Masterminds, the different schemes they try, the villains, and the assortment of heroes you will likely never play the same way twice.

3.) Dominion

This is probably the best geek game few people that aren't geeks have ever heard of. Dominion is a card game for 2-4 players. The idea behind the game is to get the most land cards (to expand your dominion) in your deck by the end of the game.

The players start out with a small deck of coppers and estates (cheap land cards) and will buy from 10 different action and treasure card piles that will give them the ability to buy more land cards and win the game.

Dominion is another game with very high replay value. The 10 different cards that the players have to buy from are different every time you play, so you never play the same game twice. There's also about a million expansions out for this game so they won't be bored.

That's my top 3 recommendations for geeky board games. I currently play all 3 on occasion and you really can't go wrong with any of them. I have more info about these games on my You Should Play This site and some great links to Amazon for deals on them.
