The WoW Auction House are a great way to generate gold and lots of it in WoW. Understanding Auction Houses can be a little complicated at first so this article will help you understand what auction houses are and how to use them to your advantage for making gold.

Where can I locate Auction House?

Auction Houses can be found throughout the land of Azeroth in the games capital cities. The locations for the Alliance Auction Houses are Stormwind, Ironforge, Darnassus and the city Exodar. The Hords Auction Houses can be located in the following cities; Silvermoon, Thunderbluff, Undercity and Ogrimmar.

What Do I Do In an Auction House?

The very first thing you're going to want to do when you have located an auction house is to speak to on of the auctioneers by simply clicking on them with your cursor. A new window will appear to the left of the screen where you can filter through categories and search through the items and goods.

Filtering through the items is straight forward and by simply clicking on an item you can see the sub categories which makes searching for items really easy. You'll also notice a tab labelled "All". By clicking on this tab you can start to really filter your search criteria to items such as poor, common, rare or epic.

To search through all the available items at once you would simply leave all settings as they were and select the search tab on the right. However it's not advisable to do this as there are so many different items available that it can take a lot of time with you missing important items.

If in the rare chance you know what item you're looking for it, you can simply type the name of the item into the "Name" field to shortlist that item from the available options. Filtering results really is a must and worth getting familiar with as it will save you so much time in the long run.

Another cool tip with auction houses is to display the item as it would look on your character. Not many people know this but by holding down the CTRL key and selecting the item you'll get to preview exactly what it would look like on your character before committing to the purchase.

Bidding in the Auction House!

To make gold in WoW auction houses, some bidding needs to take place! There is the option to purchase an item immediately at the buyout price which can be done by selecting the "Buyout" tab which is located along the bottom of the Auction House window.

When bidding you can bid for the first available price that you'll see which can also be done by selecting the "Bid" tab located on the bottom of the Auction House window. There may be other players bidding for the same item so some bids can be long winded.
