Farming Cloth has always been a favorite way to grind gold in World of Warcraft. However, farming Frostweave Cloth is easier and more profitable than ever now that Cataclysm is here. Having a level 85 character makes it quick and easy to farm mobs that used to overpower you. Read on, and you will find some of the best spots for farming Frostweave Cloth.
If you’re not quite level 80 yet, you can start slower in Zul’Drak. The area south of the Argent Stand is littered with undead that are easy to take down. Ghouls, Geists, Aboms, and Gargoyles all drop a decent amount of cloth per kill, and even at, or before level 80, you should have no problem Farming Frostweave Cloth in Cataclysm.
Another zone that is decent for anyone who’s not at level 80 yet would be in Sholazar Basin. In the Lost Lands, you will see an area where Ghouls are attacking plants. These Ghouls are what you should be aiming for. They are extremely easy to kill and don’t even focus on you since they are already in combat. Just make sure that you deal the majority of damage, or you won’t be able to loot them.
The next few areas for farming Frostweave Cloth are recommended for players level 80 and higher.
In Icecrown, straight south of The Shadow Vault, you will find a number of Fallen Hero’s Spirits and Converted Heroes. Fallen Heroes are “Yellow” and will not attack you unless attacked. This makes it a safer area to farm. However, it also can make it slower since you have to manually aggro them to AoE farm them. Farther South, the Converted Heroes are aggressive, but are buffed by Flag Bearers. You shouldn’t have trouble, but it’s safer to take out the flag bearer first. This should get the whole group’s attention, making the farming much easier.
Also in Icecrown, near the Cultist’s Cauldron on Aldur’thar, there are the cult researchers and Alchemists. These guys have a VERY fast respawn rate. It’s even quite possible to one shot them with the right spell. DoT spells are usually the best since they bring the mob closer to you for looting. If you don’t have that ability, then the old mount and gather AoE method still works.
The last method, I would highly recommend being level 85 for. It also helps if you are a tanking class as well, but it’s not necessary if you’re careful. The last method involves dungeons or instances for farming Frostweave Cloth. Linear dungeons are easiest since you can round up all mobs in one quick swoop through the instance. If you are playing a tanking class, you may even be able to clear the dungeons in 3 pulls. Dungeons I prefer are Utgarde Keep, and Violet Hold.
UK is great because it’s totally linear. On my Druid or Death Knight, I can pull every single mob up until the bosses and wipe them all out. Violet Hold is another of my favorites. I don’t even have to do anything but sit back and let the cloth (and Borean leather) come to me.
With these tactics, you should have no problem farming Frostweave Cloth for Leveling Tailoring, First Aid, or simply to make WoW Gold. Either way, it helps to do a little research, and these are some spots I got from my favorite WoW Gold Guide.
