What Is The Best Final Fantasy Game?

I’ve been a long-time fan of Final Fantasy games. The first video game I ever remember playing is Final Fantasy 2 on the Super Nintendo, which is also known as Final Fantasy 4. A little history on that… when the games were first released, not every game that was released in Japan came to the United States right away and the second game that was introduced to the United states was Final Fantasy 4. It would be a little strange however to label it as a fourth installment when the people there had only played one game. The games are unrelated to each other as far as the characters and stories go however. All Final Fantasy games have their own storyline and set of characters. But what is the best Final Fantasy game?

It can actually be hard to define the “best” anything! Especially since this question is opinionated. It was well known for many years however that many people thought Final Fantasy VII is the best game in the series. Heck it even had a movie and THREE other games based on the series. With it being the first game on the playstation and having better graphic then all of its predecessors and with the number of sales this game made… it definitely isn’t one that will be forgotten.

I remember when I was in 5th or 6th grade going to my friends house across the street everyday and playing Final Fantasy 7 and those are some fond memories that does make the game dear to my heart. However this games doesn’t rank number one in my book. All the Final Fantasy games have flaws. Final Fantasy VII had a rather confusing storyline and an ending that didn’t satisfy much, until we got an actual ending almost 10 years later in the movie Advent Children.

Final Fantasy VIII seemed like a lot was missing in the story and the magic drawing system seemed to waste a lot of time. FFIX was overly cute and the load time in between battles rather annoying. FFX was pretty linear(not as much as FFXIII though), although it was the first game on the ps2 and with voice actors that made it pretty cool at the time and even spawned a sequel FFX-2. FFXI was a different type of game as it is an MMORPG, FFXII was rather confusing and had a very different battle system than people were accustomed to.

While these were all great games and had I enjoyed playing them all for the most part, the only game I can play over and over again is Final Fantasy VI(originally FF3 on Super Nintendo). This is only my opinion! This game was that good. This game has a deep story and follows several characters throughout the game with the “main character” being debated all the time. I do believe Final Fantasy 4 is a pretty close second. These two games have been remade so many times, maybe they will remake them will great graphics so everyone will appreciate them! People just won’t consider these games as good because their graphics are inferior, but that’s not the only thing that makes a great game. Final Fantasy XIII is a Ps3 Rpggame that has great graphics and a good story but not many people consider it to be the best Final Fantasy game. I enjoyed it though and I am looking forward to many Upcoming Ps3 Games, including the FFXIII sequel.
