Board Games Dying a Slow Death

In the eighties and nineties board games like Clue, Sorry, and Monopoly were all the rage. Every home had dozens of board games, some for adults and some for children. Adults would pull out board games when entertaining others and kids would pull out board games when having friends over. Also, you were very likely to see at least a few television commercials for board games everyday.

These days many things have shifted to technology. You rarely see commercials for board games anymore. You rarely hear of new board games coming out. Video games, cell phone games, and computer games have taken over the gaming industry. When you go to stores you still see a good selection of board games for sale but it is easy to see where they are headed. A lot of the manufacturers of those games already produce computer game versions of their classic games.

If you are a big fan of those classic board games you better take the necessary steps to purchase them while you can because they will be extinct in a few years just like 8 tracks, cassette tapes, and VHS tapes. With the popularity of advances in technology once they are gone they won’t be coming back.
