April And May Video Game Releases That You Might Think About Buying

I always think that November and December are the best months of the year from a gaming point of view because you often get some big video game releases just before the busy Christmas season. However there are still some decent video games being released during the other ten months, and April and May are no exception.

We are now halfway through April and in recent weeks we have seen Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 and the Star Wars Kinect game being released. However there are still a few decent games being released in the weeks ahead.

We have Deadliest Warrior: Ancient Combat being released tomorrow (April 17th) on the PS3 and XBox 360, and we also have Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet coming out on the same day, which is a new PC game. However I think The Witcher 2: Assassin of Kings will probably be the game that a lot of gamers will be looking to buy tomorrow because this is when this eagerly anticipated game goes on sale.

The biggest video game release is still to come, however, because I think Prototype 2 is going to be a big seller when it goes on sale on April 24th, which has been confirmed as the official Prototype 2 PS3 release date. This fantasy action game is a follow up to the 2009 game and pitches you up against Alex Mercer, who is quickly becoming one of the most well known enemies in the gaming world.

So these are a few games you might want to buy when they are released in the next few weeks, but you may also want to save up to buy one or two new games in May as well. We start the month with the release of Sniper Elite V2, and then we have the likes of Starhawk, Street Fighter x Tekken, Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends, Game of Thrones and Battleship being released.

However the game that everyone has been waiting for is undoubtedly Diablo 3. I personally know two people who have made the decision to pre-order Diablo 3, and that’s before they know if the game is any good or not. The release date for this game is 15th May 2012 and this is the follow up to the original Diablo games, the last of which went on sale back in 2000 if I remember correctly.

This looks set to be one of the best role-playing games to be released in recent years, and it is one that has got a lot of publicity, long before the official release date was eventually announced by Blizzard. There are lots of videos on Youtube and many of them have been viewed by several hundred thousand people, which just goes to show how much interest there is in this new game.

It may well be one of the biggest hits of 2012, but I guess we will just have to wait and see. It may end up being a big disappointment, because this has happened with other games in the past.

Anyway the point is that there are decent games being released very shortly. So you may want to keep your eye on some of the latest releases to see if there are any that take your fancy.
