Last week, we have already heard some news about the developments in mainland China. One of the planned Star Wars attractions is heading over to Disney’s first park in Shanghai. That will be the Launch Bay. Sorts of things will be exposed. It is expected to be part store, part museum, and part interactive experience with places to buy Star Wars manchandise, to see Star Wars props and concepts as well as to interact with Star Wars series films characters.
However, the Launch Bay is now being reported that it may make very well its way to the US before Shanghai Disneyland’s 2016 opening. One site states that the Launch Bay could take place of the Innoventions pavilion(a similar expo-style attraction) in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland before the opening of The Force Awakens. Though it would be very hard to believe for a turnarond of Disney Theme Park construction so quickly, it does stand to reason that Disney will want to increae US parks presence ahead of the release of the first Star Wars trilogy.
Besides, the Launch Bay is rumored probably going into the recent shuttered Disney Animation Building in Disney Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World resort in Orlando. Hollywood studios used to be the place for promoting upcoming movies as well as the home of Walt Disney World’s only current Star Wars attraction, but recently there are some reports about it being used for other purposes. A fansite named WDWMagic reports that the Orlando location will be become a Blue Sky Cellar-an attraction that specifies upcoming rides and attractions coming to the theme park in the future. Meanwhile, Disney has a history of cloning rides from other theme parks to save money on research, development and design by building the same ride in mulitple parks. So we might not be suprised to see the Launch Bay in one or two parks ahead of The Force Awakens opening.
