A Brief Look At Different Starcraft 2 Terran Biomech Styles

Understanding the correct Starcraft 2 Terran Biomech styles can help you in many ways. The biomechanical style is basically one that focuses on your Barracks and Factory units which combines the strengths of both types of units. These units are also generally accompanied with some air units such as Medivacs.

We'll first look at both the biological units and the mechanical units that are used in the biomech play style. When engaged in bio buildups you will see that there are times when there is a lot of aggression and there is also plenty of army trading going on. In addition, there will also be many multi pronged attacks and you will also be harassing the enemy in a very mobile manner.

Bio units tend to be the most effective when used in small group sizes and are therefore referred to as squads. When you combine these with quick upgrades from your Engineering Bay or Tech Lab you will be successful in carrying the lower echelon units into the latter stages of this game. This is very useful for you because there may be high health and high damage to your units.

A mechanical style on the other hand is a style of play that is mainly focused on the units coming out of the Factory. These units tend to be able to take more damage and are also not as mobile. Such units are generally most effective when you need to make use of a positional strategy in which the emphasis is on containing your enemy and also to hold on to areas of your territory.

These factory units are also used for muscling out the enemy. If you are playing Terran Mech then you can use these units in a defensive role against the Zerg and you can also use Siege Tanks to help you in defending yourself against ground based attacks. You can also use the Marines to cover you in the early part of the game and to also help in shutting down air unit harass.

When utilizing the biomech style however you will be using a mix of the Bio and the Mech styles. It means using the two strongest characteristics of each style. In other words, you may need to counteract the lower mobility of vehicles like the Tank with the Bio style which will help you to improve your overall damage output and mobility.

In addition, you will also enjoy stronger ability in claiming positional dominance and still allow yourself the opportunity to use mobile drop har[censored] moves so as to help you in relocating the main army to a much stronger position. With enough Medivacs you can also move your army to the enemy base while bypassing terrain.

Using combinations such as the Tank/Marine for example can be a good starting strategy against all of the three races. This move is however most effective when used against the Terran and the Zerg and not so effective in combating the Protoss.
