Everything was alot more simpler when I first begun playing FPS Games. You waited for the next chapter Quake to be released and get to the shops to go buy it. Nowadays times have changed with so many big releases coming out month after month the decessions are neverending. But are you going to buy a Shooter game when can just pick 1 up for free? Here's three reasons why you would never want to pay!
First: Can I try first please?
How many times have you gone out and bought a mmo, to[censored] with it for a while and never pla[censored] with it again? Talking about myself here I can honestly say I have done this more times than I would like to remember or would want to cause it would just make me drop down in tears thinking of the cash I have lost! The best thing for me with free games is that the only thing you would be throwing away is time and some HD space while you choose whether or not to carry on playing it.
Gone are the times where $40 game becomes nothing more than a new coffee mat or new toy for the dog! Say good bye to the years of dragging yourself out of bed at the crack of dawn on release day to get yourself down to the games shop in time to grab a copy. Just register. Hit the download button and come back later to ready to install Free FPS title.
Second: Pay for what you get right?
Wrong! In my experience over the years with these free fps mmos the quality has always been Excellent. I would even say there right up there with the paid games! The graphics are top notch, pushing the boundaries with other top paid shooters. a top example for you would be Global Agenda. This title has been built with the same 3D engine that runs Quake (Unreal 3D engine 3) and is also a lot of fun to! Quake sets you back? Global Agenda costs nothing!
Quality of the servers is also another thing to point out. I have lost count how many times I have had to exit a server in Call of Duty due to it being badly infested with lag. A player disappearing from one end of screen to the other and I'am not alone either, just reading the built in chat you can see its affecting the whole server. At the time of writing this I have been enticed by a F2P mmo called Combat in Arms. Within this free fps game I can with all my heart say lag has never been a problem. There are times it happens but for the most part I am content in the fact that the game runs with no problems at all, even when playing it on my laptop.
Third: Free FPS Games dont have content!
Do you think paid games have all the content? Or at least you would guess so since you're paying money for it. I'll admit now paid titles do have a lot more single player PvE content than a free fps game. The free mmos usually tend to focus solely on PvP aspect of FPS.
But is there content as rich as a paid game?
Yes and more. Just to point out my claim for you, there is a free FPS mmo titled Operation 7 and has a staggering amount of maps and gaming modes. over 17 different locations and 5 different styles of modes to choose from and has updates coming out monthly. Games such as Combat in Arms have a whooping 300+ armoury of weapons to choose from. Yes some of these do involve micro-transactions but they got to keep the servers going right?
