If your questioning what most people do on Facebook, the probable answer is that they are playing Farmville. If you want to learn how to play Farmville, there are quite a few strategies and techniques, however, they are relatively easy. But we don't need to concern ourselves with that just yet.

First, let’s go through a summary of what you need to be able to know exactly how to play Farmville.

Facebook is free, so all you need is a name and age, and a valid email address. You only need some basic details to join Facebook. It is free to sign up. There are a number of ways to find Farmville the game, you can click on the "Applications" menu on the bottom-left of the screen, and browse for the game that way. A fast way of finding it is by simply punching it into the search bar at the top of the page.

Once you get to the game, it would seem as though your aim is to plant, plow and harvest numerous crops for profits. This will increase your coins and XP in Farmville. Planting and harvesting crops will get you right into the basics of learning how to play Farmville. By hanging around more often in the game you start to notice more details, such as how to build buildings, buy vehicles, share items with your friends and loads more.

Plowing, planting, and harvesting different crops is the most consistent way to build up your XP and Coins. This operation involves three simple steps.

Plowing is the digging of the ground and preparing it for planting the seeds. Plots are the squares that make up your farm. Only one plot can be plowed at a time. However, once you have purchased a tractor for $30,000, you can plow 4 plots at once. Even though it is a time-saver, it needs fuel to run!

The next step to learning how to play Farmville, after plowing, is planting the seeds! Once planted you will have to wait for the little ones to grow. Each seed takes a certain amount of time to ripen. To see the full list of crop growing times, profit per seed, and profits per month, I highly recommend you take a look at the Farmville spreadsheet

Harvesting is collecting the fruit or grains that come from what you planted. This is where you gain the coins and xp. Once all your plots have been harvested, you will then have clear plots and you can start again.

That’s just the basics of how to play Farmville. Want to know more? Then keep reading:

When you first start out, there will only be a certain amount of crops/tree's that you can plant until you get more experience and unlock some more. If you want to gain more experience, keep on harvesting and help out your friends on their farms.

If you want more room on your farm, you can extend your land to allow for this. You will then have more space for some extra plots. This land expansion can be applied in a couple of different ways. The easiest and most common way on land expansion is to earn enough coins and have the right amount of neighbours to upgrade to the next size. Otherwise, you can purchase the land expansion with "Farm Cash" which is your own real money.

As you continue to earn more coins and experience, you will level up and by doing so, you will unlock new items such as seeds/fruit/tree's, special items and animals, etc.

I can't explain how to play Farmville without also telling you about how you can earn ribbons for various things. Ribbons are awarded to you for all different things, from helping out a kind neighbor to spending loads of cash for the "High Roller" ribbon. By getting a ribbon, you are basically showing off what you can achieve in Farmville.

To thrive in Farmville you must be wise in what you plant and everything you do. When learning how to play Farmville you can easily plant and harvest once every 4 days but if your neighbor is harvesting their crops every 6 hours they will usually end up doing a lot better. This means harvesting crops on time, ie; You don't want to let your crops wither because you didn't plan when they would be ready to harvest. When your crops expire or wither you are throwing away much needed XP and Coins. By doing additional things like buying expansions, fertilizing neighbors crops, you can accumulate xp quicker. It is also a good idea to add lots of neighbors, not just to show off your farm, but also to bag some more experience points because they will fertilize your crops. This is also a great way to get some ideas of your own.

I must say that in order to learn how to play Farmville you just need to jump into the game and let it take a hold of you to really appreciate it's features.
