Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Basics

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has a ridiculous name and a ridiculous tutorial that is kind of bothersome. Long menus that explain fact after fact will actually create a loss of information. If you skipped through the tutorial, or just want a little bit of information on the game, this Theatrhythm Basics guide will go over the different types of battles and Triggers.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Trigger Types

In all of the game modes the actions you take on the touch screen basically fall into three different categories. These categories are called Triggers. Triggers tells the player what to do on the screen. Each of them have a different symbol and a different action that you must take.

touch-trigger – Touch Trigger – Tap or Touch the bottom 3DS screen. slide-trigger – Slide Trigger – Slide the stylus in the arrow direction on the 3DS screen. hold-trigger – Hold Trigger – Hold the stylus down to the Touch Screen on the bottom 3DS screen.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Stages

There are three different main types of stages in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Each section has it’s own special feature zone that will boost your score. When you get a BAD or MISS on a trigger in these stages, you lose your health. Finish the stage with health left and you will have won. After Completing a stage you will also have a chart that shows how many critical triggers you have achieved. The three types of Music Stages are:

  • Battle Music Stage – Fast uptempo battle songs. Triggers will run across the screen from left to right. Perfect your timing to hit each right on your Mark. Though there are 4 lanes, you do not need to change where you touch.
  • Best Characters For BMS – You will find you want characters with high Strength and Magic for BMS. Each monster defeated ups your chance of getting an item. A boss might give you a rare item!

  • Field Music Stage – Next is FMS, where you find Hold Triggers curving about onscreen. Move your stylus up and down to hit all the midpoints on the line!
  • Best Characters for FMS – Characters with high Agility and Luck will be useful in this stage. Higher Agility will allow you to go farther, raising your chances of meeting moogles and getting items!

  • Event Music Stage – In BMS and FMS it is the Triggers that move, but in EMS you’ll see you Mark move instead! But you still have to time your moves to hit each Trigger on your mark. Your Mark will move while you hold for a Hold Trigger, but you do not need to worry about moving the stylus to mimic the movement of the hold line on the upper screen.
  • Best Characters for EMS – You will want characters with high Agility and Luck in your party for EMS. They may help you avoid damage when you get a MISS or BAD or net you better items!

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Opening & Ending Themes

In Series mode, you play one song per MS, but you can also play the Opening and Ending Themes. During the Opening and Ending Theme, tap to the melody on the Touch Screen. Touch the lower screen when the music note mark overlap the center of the Crystal to create more Notes in this bonus game. These Notes will be added to your Rhythmia, increasing the harmony in the world!

That’s pretty much all that you need to know to get started in Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. If you would like more help on some of the more advanced events and features hit us up in the comments!
