Sleeping Dogs Listening In Guide

Listening In is a mission given to you by Raymond, Wei’s handler for the police. The first part of the mission asks you to go to an electronics store and pick up some equipment. Head out to the marker to start the mission.

Listening In Mission Start
Walk into the store and “Not Ping” will flirt with you a little and hand over a very expensive bug. When you walk outside some jack ass will steal it from you. Chase him down to get back the bug.

After a little bit he will turn around and will try to fight. He is pretty easy to take out just watch out for his hits. Normal blows will not stop his hits so he acts like a heavy hitter. Just make sure to counter when you see him flash red and you will be fine. After you take the baddie down pick up the handbag to get back your stolen equipment. Then you will be instructed to give Raymond a call and he will tell you to head to the Restaurant.

Getting In – Sneaky Style
Your job now is to get to the restaurant without being seen. The construction on the overpass is an easy way to get in. If you steal a car or anything to get over there you will lose a little bit of police score, but time is money right? Either way head over to the construction area across from the Golden Koi.

Climb across and follow the construction green beacons. There will be green blankets hanging over most of the things that can be jumped onto or climbed on. A couple hop skip and jumps over the construction and you will be at the top window of the restaurant. Head inside and get ready for some suspense.

Bugging the Golden Koi
Once inside there will be a flashing vent. This is the location you will use to plant the bug. Head over to that spot and pres Y. You are on a timer so make sure to move kind of quickly. Don’t panic though, there is plenty of time.

Spin the L stick counter clockwise to loosen the bolts in the vent. Now comes for the little bit more difficult part, planting a bug. To plant a bug in Sleeping Dogs first you must calibrate the sensitivity with the L stick. Move the stick around and use the color to judge how cold or warm you are getting Green is good. A noise will ding and prompt you to hold that spot. Hold it for a second and move onto Frequency. Same deal, find the sweet spot and hold it there. Then you have to do sensitivity and frequency at the same time. It is usually easiest to find one and then the other.

Once the bug is calibrated put the duct grate back on by moving the L stick clockwise to screw in the screws you took out. Then move towards the back door and pick the lock to leave. To pick a lock in Sleeping dogs press up or down on the R stick to the correct tension. You will have it at the correct level when the game will click and show green and then you can move Left with the L stick. Complete all the pins and the door will unlock.

Exit the door and you will have completed the listening in mission in Sleeping Dogs. Enjoy the points and get ready for more great missions because this is really where the game is heating up.
