Fire Emblem: Awakening Guide – Challenge: Border Pass Guide

Fire Emblem: Awakening has a couple of features that make it a more believable world. The Challenges that will pop up from time to time feature a character on a previously played chapter map. This Challenge: Border Pass Guide will go over what these challenges are and why they are a good idea to do.

Challenge: Border Pass Breakdown

Important Unlocks:

• XP Unlock: Look for the sparkling items that are on the ground. One of these spots had an XP buff that could be used by any character that stood on the square.
• XP Unlock: There was a second sparkling item for me that had a weapon proficiency upgrade. Check out the sparkling area on the map to collect it.
• Item Unlock: One of the weirder enemies, the Entombed, had a Bullion (S) on him that is worth 1,000 gold at a market.

The first thing these challenges do is give an opportunity to train. My first challenge mission popped up after I had completed Prologue 2: The Secret Seller. The map has 8 enemies. 2 are to the left of the spawn point and the rest are north. It might be a good idea to bring some of your characters who have been left behind on other missions. Most of the time the challenges are not actually as hard as their name would suggest.

Use the mountain side to your advantage just like you did on this map before. Put heavy melee fighters in the front, like Kellam, and bottle neck the opposing team through this spot. You will have to take a good dose of your team directly to the left as soon as the mission starts. Take out these couple of baddies first so they don’t get in any pot shots to your healers. There is also a couple of Risen on the right side that will circle around to where you have spawned. Take these guys out as well before they reach any of you lower level cohorts.

If you followed the above directions the last two enemies will probably be a Entombed which is basically the knight class of the Risen and the boss. Be careful against both of these enemies. They both can do a heavy amount of damage. I highly suggest keeping a healer right around the heavy knight that you put in the way of the mountain pass. Having a Rescue handy also would not be a bad thing. After you finish off the boss and the other enemy you will have completed your first challenge!
