Basso is the side quest giver in Thief. He will give you various missions to do for you to earn coin and help you find collectibles scattered throughout the city. This guide will help you get through the missions with no trouble at all. Let’s get started.
Sick Willy – Activate this quest on your tracker and head into Sick Willy’s Townhouse. When you are inside look at the painting of the naked lady and activate the switch. Take the ladder up and inside the chest up there you will find the watch for the quest. Loot the rest of the house before you leave.
?(Missed the name before I beat it) – You will need a rope arrow and the razor in order to complete this quest. Activate it on your map and head dot the dot and loot up to see where you will need to use your rope arrow. Climb up the rope and cut out the painting to complete this quest.
Beauty Within – Put this quest as your active one and head over to the window. You will have to use a rope arrow in order to get up to that window. Go into the window and be ready because there is a guy with a sword inside. Sneak up behind him and knock him out. Head downstairs and looking behind the painting and enter the code 824 to open the safe and beat the quest.
Medical Misery – Make this your active quest and head over to the way point. Go into the window and head downstairs in order to find the quest item. There are three ways in and if you are using a door be sure to check through the key hole before you open it. I used the vent and made sure to exit when the doctor wasn’t looking. Take the medicine bottle and the quest will be complete.
A Lady’s Bequest – You will have to go through the doctors office and through the window in order to get to this mission. Go to the marked area and go into the basement. There is shelf you can climb and behind a the table barricade you can find the quest item.
Hand Tailored You will need to go through the doctors office and exit the lower level window in order to gain access to this part of the city. enter the tailor shop and either avoid or take out the guards inside. in the basement there is a safe near a guard and inside is the hand.
Watch Your Step – You will need a wire cutter for this quest. Head to the marker on the map and enter the window to start this quest. inside the area there are two sets of traps and a box you can use to shut them off. Get hit by the first trap then climb on the bed and use the box to cut off the traps.
Saving Fave – Go to the marker and pick the lock to enter the building for the quest. In the basement you can find the quest item but it is guarded by a trap. use the wrench to take down the plaque and behind that you will find a switch to deactivate the trap.
Taking a Fence – This one is a bit tricky and you will need a blunt arrow a rope arrow and a normal arrow to complete it. After you leave the room with the two sets of traps, the side quest room that you had to disable the traps in, you should see a window across the road with a rope to climb. Climb up that rope and enter the first window and exit out the other window. Now look up and you will see a spot to attach a rope and a way to knock down a platform. Use a broad head to knock down the platform then the rope arrow so you can climb up and jump onto that platform. Follow the path until you can jump across to the roof with a barred window. Use the blunt arrow to hit the switch inside and you can loot the place, use the books to reveal a hidden desk, and beat the quest. Use your focus if you can’t see the switch.
Writing Wrongs – You will need to find some pieces of a poem in order to beat this quest and you will need the wrench to get one of them. Once you enter the window you will see a chest right away, in that chest is the first pieces of the poem. Next head down stairs and check the desk for a second piece of the poem. From there go to the corner of the room and enter the vent and go to the other side. Close the chest and behind the chest you can find a third piece of the poem. I found the next one up in the bedroom on top of the book shelf, you have to close the doors in order to climb it. I found another one somewhere along the lines either in the bathroom or on the desk but it was an easy one to find.
Happy Medium – After you meet Vittori with he will ask you to retrieve a skull for him. Head to the black market and there will be two guys chatting. While they do that go around them and up and over the wall while remaining unseen. Open the door for Lenny and then follow him to his hideout without getting caught. When he stops the first time sneak to the valve near him and wait for them to ask for a flame and activate it fully.
When he stops at Rosey there will be another ale for you to turn to the left of Lenny. Go ore and turn it fully again. Follow him to his gate from there and wait for him to fall asleep then pick the gate to open it. From there follow him to the next door and you can now steal the skull. Once you enter the hideout drop to the floor beneath, which you can do under the hanging string in the first room.
There is a single guard down here so watch for his pattern and strike when you can. Upstairs there will be a guard and Lenny. You will need to take out the guard but Lenny is so drunk he will go pass out again and he ignored me when I took down the guard. The thing you need to get for the quest is upstairs and there is one last guard up there. Do what you have to do get the loot and return to Vittori.
Check, Mate – Activate this quest and head to the quest area, near the upgrade lady. Next to the marker is some boxes you can jump up in order to access a window. Open the window and head down the steps to find a guy with a sword. Take him out then head to the basement and use you focus to find and disable the traps, then open the safe with the combination 776.
Long Drop Full Stop – Mark this one on your map and head to the marker, be sure to bring a rope arrow. At the marker you can see a window but you can’t quite reach it yet. Near there you can find a ladder that brings you to the upper levels, use focus to help you find it. With focus still on cross the beam and use the cable box to drop a bridge. On the bridge you can use a rope arrow to jump over to the window. inside use the bookshelf to gain access to the quest item.
Writing Wrongs – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker. After you enter the window search the whole house and another marker will become unlocked so head there. Enter in between some boxes and use the bookshelf to reveal a trap door with the quest item inside.
The Point Of No Return – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker. Once you get to the door use your focus to follow a wire and unlock the door. Inside there is a painting connected to a trap do disable the trap and look behind the painting. Loot everything and grab the cash under the floor boards that you can access after you remove the painting.
The Witch of Stonemarket – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker. Next to the marker you can see some stairs that lead down to a grate you can remove. Take that grate into the house and grab the quest item to complete the quest.
The Tinker’s Trinket – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker. Take the steps down to the quest area and take out the two guards inside. Pick the lock and enter the next room and inside the chest you can find the quest item.
A Grave Matter – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker. You will have to go completely around in order to get into the building with the ashes which means getting past the guards. Once you are past the guards you can find a grate in a open room with a closet for you to hide in. Take that grate and climb up into the open window of the house and grab the ashes inside.
Eyes of the Prize Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. You will have to use the body on the switch to open the first door. Hit the switch inside the first door then pick the lock to the other door. Go down the rope and open the drawer for the quest item.
Poor Protection Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. You will have to climb up a hole underneath the house in order to get inside. Before you try to open the drawer go outside the window and cut the trap wires then beat the quest.
The Rule of Thumb Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. You will need a rope arrow and you will have to use it under the house to gain access to a window. Inside there is a guard so take him out and then grab the quest item from him to beat the quest.
Shark Bait – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. You will need to use a rope arrow to enter the window for this quest. Once inside barely step on the first trap to avoid the shot then go past it to the cupboard. Open it up and break the vase inside, behind that there is a switch you want to hit. Enter the door once it opens and disable the traps so you can finish looting the place and beat the quest.
Fit for a Queen – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. There is a grate you can use the claw on right before the marker that you will want to use so you can gain access to the window above. Take the first window on the right and inside is the quest item.
Casing The Cargo – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. You will need a rope arrow and you will need to cut the wires outside the building in order to open the window. Once you cut the wires go in through the window and search the painting. Hit the switch behind the painting and grab quest item under the floor boards.
The Path to Riches – Mark this as your active quest on the map and head to the marker, this is in South Quarter. Go in through the window and use a rope arrow to gain access to the quest item area. Use your focus vision to find the rope arrow point.
