Recon is key when approaching and exploring the outposts you’ll pass through on your way to find Miller. Be sure to scout each one you’re planning on going through to mark soldiers and any gun turrets or mortars that might come in handy if you want to go in guns blazing. It’s worth exploring the buildings to find various resources that will come in handy at Mother Base.
Save Miller for last if you want to check off the other objectives.
Rough diamonds in Spugmay Keep
Spugmay Keep is behind you when you start off in this area. As you enter the ruins, there’s a rocky ledge up to your left where you’ll find the rough diamond. There’s some ammo lying around a bit further in, so it’s worth taking a minute to explore and getting to grips with the mechanics of jumping and scaling terrain.
Extracting the commander from Wakh Sind Barracks
The road to the barracks is lightly patrolled and once you get in there, it’s heavily guarded. If you go in by night, you can turn off the generator to switch off the power, but the soldiers will come to investigate and turn it back on, so use this as a distraction or as bait. The patrols will switch over at sunrise and sunset, so your best bet is to infiltrate under cover of night, clean up the bodies as you go, and get to the commander before daybreak.
Extracting the transport truck driver
The transport truck driver makes his rounds through the outposts, and will get out of the truck to stretch his legs before driving off again a few minutes later. Clear the area around his route so you can nab him and Fulton him off without being spotted as soon as he hops off the truck.
Extracting Miller
When you reach the outpost where he’s being held, head toward the building at the centre with the red flags. There’s music playing inside to guide you to the right place. You’ll find him in a room on the upper floor.
Avoiding the Skulls
The Skulls will appear after you extract Miller, and you’ll need to navigate through them on foot with him slung across your back if you want to get past without being spotted. Forget the direct route over the bridge – you’ll need to slink about through the rocks below if you want to go unnoticed in the sand storm.
