Dragon Age II Walkthrough: Act 1 : Part 4

The Unbidden Rescue



After completing the quest Long Way Home, head to Hightown and locate a Bounty poster (there is one to the west of Hightown Square). Then go to the Viscount's chambers located in the Viscount's Keep. Speak to Seneschal Bran outside Viscount Dumar's chambers. Then leave for the Wounded Coast. Take the path to the Southwest. Meet the Winters party and fight them. Prepared to battle several groups of enemies at a time. After you defeat the mercenaries and are talking to Saemus, be sure to choose "wait here while I look around" to get a chance to loot the corpses. Then talk to him again to go back to Kirkwall and complete the quest.

Herblist's Tasks

Speak to Solivitus in the Gallows. He will ask you to collect some herbs for him. Here is where to find them:
Dragon Fang: Found in Bone Pit final boss.
Spider's Silk: Ruined Passage while doing Magistrate's Orders. Loot from one of the Archanids
Ironbark: Go to Dalish Camp in Sundermont and speak to Master Ilen.Leave the map and go to the Ironwood Clearing. Defeat the Hurlocks and Ogre and follow the waypoint to obtain the Ironbark.
Return to Solivitrus to complete the quest.

Tranquility

Seek Lirene, a shopkeeper located in Lerene's Fereldan Imports shop in Lowtown, in the Lowtown Bazaar area to the west. Talk to her and find out about Anders, then leave the shop. You will be confronted by some refugees as you exit, either negotiate with them or battle them. Then head to Darktown. Enter a door in the NE part to find Anders. Talk to him and agree to help him free his friend Karl. Then go to the Chantry in Hightown at night. Talk to Anders and enter the Chantry. Find Karl and talk to him. A battle will ensue. After that talk to Karl again. You will then be transported back to Anders' quarters in Darktown. This will conclude the quest, as well as unlock Anders as a companion.

Redblossom Special

In the Southern area of the Wounded Coast zone, there is a crate containing a Redblossom salve. Deliver this item to Dalien Shaw located south of Anders' home in Darktown.

Nice Crime You Have Around Here

Go to Merill at her house in Lowtown's alienage area. Talk to her to complete the quest.

An Errant Letter

Take the letter received from the Transformed mage  (During the Wayward Son Quest) to Thrask in the Gallows. You can blackmail him for money, or agree to keep his secret for XP.

Questions and Answers

Go to the Hanged Man Pub and talk to Varric (after completing the Tranquility quest)

Sharp Little Pinpricks

This quest is awarded after killing gang members in Lowtown at night. Once you get the quest, go to the Hovel entrance at the Southeastern part of Lowtown. Enter it and defeat all enemies found inside.
