Dead Island Side Quests Walkthrough: Light My Fire

You get the Light My Fire sidequest in the lighthouse, while doing the Knockin on Heaven's door quest. After talking to James, in the lighthouse balcony on the top, talk to Trevor Cohen who is standing nearby. He will ask you to get flares from the shipwrecked ships on the coast.

Follow the path on the minimap to the shoreline. Make sure to be on alert, as you will be encountering lots of zombies during this quest. If you are having problems fighting any of the zombies, especially the thugs, try and run past them and focus on the mission objective of getting the flares.

The road from the lighthouse to the caverns where the wrecked ships are is pretty long. You can either fight the zombies along the way, or sprint past them if you dont have the patience. Travel down the road until you get to the area with the shipwrecks

You have to find four flares. Watch your radar for the red flags marking the flare locations. As you get closer, a red flag will turn into a  red loot hand. The flares will be on boats, inside toolboxes. If you are having problems clearing the zombies near it, just make a run for the toolboxes, grab the flares and retreat.

Once you have collected all four flares, go back to Trevor to complete the quest and collect your reward.
