Might and Magic Heroes VI Infernal Hero Walkthrough - Capture the Mines - Part 7

Now that you have recruited some more units in the town, you are ready to go face the infernal hero and recapture the mines.

On the minimap, not the grey icons. They represent resource sites that are controlled by no one. Capture them to receive he resources they produce.

Also, if you have leveled and yet to spend your ability points, now is the time to do so. Open the hero panel. The hero window consists of separate panels. You already know the Hero information panel. The one you see now is the ability tree panel, identified by the fist. You can switch between the panels by left clicking on their buttons.

In the ability tree panel, hover the cursor over the icons of the abilities to get info on them, left click on the desired ability, then left click on the green tick to learn it.

You already know the "Stand Your Ground" ability. Choose another ability now. For the first ability, we recommend you choose "Flawless Assault" which will cause a unit to do maximum damage for two turns.

From the city, head south. If there is a Mothers Earth Shrine along the way, visit it to get a bonus for your next combat. Also visit any Rally Flag along the way for more bonuses.

Just south of the city there will be a Inferno Core army. Defeat them. Grab any artifacts they were protecting - we found the Cape of Protection (Minor Artifact) a cloak that gives +2 magic defense.

Visit the stables to add movement points for your hero.

There is a signpost: Danger Rockfall Hazard. From that sign, go NE to reach the first mine you can recapture. Defeat the Infernal units and double click on the mine to capture it.

The populations of creatures increases at the beginning of every week.. If your forces have dwindled too low because of the fights, make sure to head back to town to recruit new units.

Also, note that every week, enemy armies become stronger. If you spend too much time without progressing you may encounter enemies which you cannot defeat.

If you head south from the signpost you will encounter some maulers that wish to join you. More units is always good, so be sure to accept their offer.
