Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword Walkthrough Part 9 – Kikwi Hunt
First Kikwi
Swing back to the path you just came from and retrace your steps. Head back down the ledge towards the Sky Statue. Find your way back to Machi and climb the ledge to the right of it. Continue upwards and you will find a landing with an Octorock on it. Kill the Octorock and use Drowsing to find the hole in the ground to your right. Drop down it and follow it along to find the kikwi, Oolo.
Second Kikwi
Using the Elder Kikwi as a start, you want to make your way down to the nearby Great Tree. There using the Drowsing to track down the small opening in its roots, there is an Octorock by it to make it easier to find. It is partly hidden behind some grass so keep an eye open. Head on through. On the other side you will find three Bokoblins waiting for you. Kill them then head for the big root just beyond them. Head along that to the waall where you will see two groups of vines you can climb. Start climbing the first set then leap ovre to the second. At the top you will find a large cluster of grass. Hack it all down to reveal the second Kikwi, Erla.
Time for a little detour before we collect the third Kikwi. Keep to the right and go into the water through the opening on your right. Head along the dirt path in front of you. When you pass under a land bridge turn left and go up the narrow slope in the same direction. There is a Deku Baba waiting for you around here so be wary. You will soon find a tightrope you can use to reach a piece of heart.
Third Kikwi
Once again, starting the the Elder, but this time head behind him. There is a small opening you can cross through. On the otherside you will find some vines you can climb up and beyond that a tight rope to cross. There are some explosive burrs on the rope so if you get a prompt to jostle the rope, do so. Link will fall but catch himself on the rope. If the burr gets on him and explodes then he will fall off. On the other side you will find a large clearing with a a single Bokoblin, a leader, who will then blow its horn and summon a number of comrades. While the Leader lives he can call for indefinite reinforcements. Defeat all of them for the final Kikwi to reveal itself in the tree above! This is Lopsa.
It will complain it does not have the strength to get down. Time for a classic Zelda solution! Run and roll into the tree. It will drop down the Kikwi as well as a rope you can use to exit the area. Take a moment to push the log down to the level below so you have a clear path back in the future.
The Elder explains that she went the Temple you likely saw on your way back to the Elder. He explains that there are lots of monsters around it. For your efforts to collect the Kikwi he gives you a Slingshot.
Shoot the vine that he points it and swing across using it. Now head for the pond and swim through te opening in it. You will quickly find yourself by the Temple that the Elder Kikwi showed you. Head behind the building you were shown and use the Slingshot to unfurl the vine there. After a quick talk with Fi head over to it and swing up. Hack down the nearby plant to restock some of your Deku seeds then head through the opening to the Deep Woods.
