Simon Miller, Editor-In-Chief - Beyond Oasis: The Story Of Thor, Xbox 360 (Mega Drive)

Seemingly pitched as 'A Legend Of Zelda for a Sega console', Beyond Oasis is actually a pretty decent RPG that still manages to be half-decent today.

It does this, mainly, by taking all the usual nonsense RPGs spouted out in the mid-90s and adding in its own spin on it. Admittedly the Zelda influence helps no end, but that's certainly no bad thing - such inspirations aren't enough to make it feel like a copycat.

I've decided to try and finish it before summer has left us. Good luck with that…

Brett Phipps, Staff Writer - Titanfall, Xbox One

For the past week I’ve played nothing but Titanfall every night. I love Titanfall - it’s the best multiplayer FPS on the market right now. I normally get bored quickly by multiplayer games, giving up on things like Battlefield and COD before Christmas, but I keep returning to Respawn’s shooter.

I finally finished the IMC campaign (for the achievements, obviously) and am now digging into the new modes that came with the latest update. I’m hoping that now I’m purely playing multiplayer, I still find enough reason to stick around.

Jim Trinca, Video Producer - Sniper Elite 3, PS4

I’ve been enjoying the hell out of Sniper Elite III this week, a game I never expected to be into given that I’m not really a shooter guy. It’s fantastic - sneaking around the big, open levels to find perfect vantage points for blowing skeletal Nazi faces off in glorious next-gen detail is much more fun than I’d ever have guessed.

I’m told that had I played the previous title, Sniper Elite v2, I might not be so impressed with the sequel as it’s very much more of the same, so perhaps that’s worth noting. But either way, it’s a lot of fun.

I will also be watching Independence Day, which is not a video game, but I wanted to mention it because it was July 4 yesterday and it’s the only movie in which the incredible Smith/Goldblum double-act has ever occurred. It genuinely breaks my heart that they never worked together after that. I’m not even kidding. I’ve cried about this.

Incidentally there was a video game version but it was so awful everyone’s forgotten about it. Good.

Steve Burns, Reviews and Features Editor - PES 2015, PS4

This week I played the latest build of PES 2015, which you can read about here. Apart from that, I had to defend the honour of my beloved Manchester United during the PES World Finals, when a well-known journalist came in wearing a Man City t-shirt. Naturally I beat him at the game, twice, before sending him on his way.

A job well done, I feel.
