After you have talked with the Commandant and gotten your payment from the accountant upstairs, you will want to leave Caldera and head to Tacarigua. Tell the man on the ship that you are ready to leave. This will initiate a travel sequence. Because you cannot travel the world freely yet, as you do not have your own ship (something that will be solved later on) you will not be able to return to Caldera. As you travel the seas, you will be informed that you have been “officially” dishonorably discharged from the Inquisition. As such, you are now on your own. You must inform nobody of your allegiance with the Inquisition and, when asked, must pretend to have a distaste for them. This way, when you end up attempting to join the pirate crew, your story and motivations will be believable.
Patty will accompany you throughout your journey. She will join your party and fight and converse alongside of you. This will prove immensely helpful during battle, as Patty wields a gun and can thus deal extremely heavy damage to enemies, although at a much slower rate than you typically attack with your sword. She will also sometimes provide a distraction for you to use when battling groups of enemies. When they begin to attack her, you can take them out from behind. She won’t always be so helpful in conversations, though, as she has a will and personality of her own and will not just blindly follow your orders.
You will be able to run around the ship a little bit while sailing and when it docks. There isn’t too much of value on the ship, although you can loot a few Provisions from the kitchen. When you arrive at Tacarigua, disembark and get ready for the first leg of your journey.
