Diablo 3 Walkthrough Part 28: Caverns of Araneae

Enter the caverns of Araneae. Your quest log updates:

Trailing the Coven
Search for the Chamber of Queen Araneae

There is a Cocooned Victim near the entrance, perhaps a sign of what's yet to come. Search the body for any gold and loot, and continue into the caverns, as the game saves a checkpoint. Go down the stairs, and past some piles of egg sacks, and cobwebs. You will be attacked by all sorts of undead and beasts, including Ghouls, Spiderlings, and Arachnid Horrors. You might also run into elite bosses, such as a big spider - Kagra the Gorgon (Nightmarish). You also run into another huge spider, a Toxic Lurker (Plagued Beast).

There are several sources of loots in this cavern. At least one chest is to be found. You can shoot egg sacks and usually find some gold. Also be on the lookout for a dusty bag that contains a green story item, "Hermit's Ravings". There is also a Treasure Bandit/Treasure Goblin running around. Especially, be on the watch for a Resplendent Chest, which contains higher quality loot such as uncommon and possibly rare items, and a lot of god.

These caves are pretty massive and it will take you a while to explore them all, but eventually you come across the exit to Queen Araneae's Chamber. Enter the Chamber of Queen Araneae. You observe a woman trapped in the web. Talk to her.

Karyna: Please, help me! It's horruble - she sucks the innards from her victims! Oh no...no! It's too late; I hear her! The spider queen is coming!

Your task now is to kill Queen Araneae. The following boss appears:

Spider Queen Strategy
Queen Araneae attacks you using several different abilities:
Spider Web
Summon Minions
Web Charge
Melee Strike
Web Spit
Spider Vomit

Her attacks have poisons that can weaken you and slow you down.

Depending on your class, attack her from melee or ranged. Be aware when you are snared or low on health. When you get her down around two thirds of her health, the Spider Queen retreats and summon her Araneae Minions. You will have to kill all six of those summons before the Queen enters the battle again. This repeats when you get her down to third of her health. Your follower can take some of the heat while you heal yourself with potions or red globes. But otherwise, stay focused on the queen and strike her with all you've got.

Defeat the Spider Queen to advance in the quest.
