Darksiders 2 Walkthrough Part 52 – The Toll of Kings, Part 5
Head through the Northern door of the Arena as it is time to claim the third and final Animus Stone. Just head North through the first room and straight into a battle. This one is against numerous Skeletons, Skeletal Warriors and a pair of Skeletal Champions. The toughest of the lot is the Champion. It has a leaping attack it loves to use and it will try to taunt Death. Just keep a good focus on the champions, doing plenty of collateral damage to the Warriors and Skeletons there were called in. Defeat all of them then continue to the next room to the North.
The bridge across is down with only a Shadow Bomb Growth in its place. For now though turn to the East and head on through the door to there. Follow the corridor as heads to the East then turns to the North and finally to the West. Enter the door there to engage in battle with the next Skeletal Champion. Defeat the first and the ground will shake. A horde of Skeletons will charge out from the walls and attack Death. If you have Teleport Slash, Exhume, Unstoppable or Harvest, this is a great time to go offensive with them.
After the horde has been dealt with continue to the West into the Northern Chamber. Time for a quick little puzzle to be solved. Now, start by standing on the Pressure Plate that is in the middle of the area. This will raise the Drawbridge and expose the Shadow Bomb Growth. Pull out Deathgrip and grab one from the growth. Turn around and head off the Pressure Plate and over to the Throne North of it. Throw the Shadow Bomb at the switch to the right of the Pressure Plate while standing in front of or on the Throne. It will throw the switch and spin the Throne around, letting Death move on.
This delivers Death right to the Animus Stone Chamber. Start to the North and make for the Animus Stone. As Death approach the Stone a number of Skeletons and a Champion appear. Only, you do not fight them, a Scarab Hulk appears and smashes them to bits and then turns its attention over to Death.
The Scarab Hulk is a unique monster as it loves to block. Just after it attacks it is very possible to land a few hits but it will quickly raise its carapace in defense and block the incoming attacks. It tends to telegraph all its attacks by flapping its wings. Whenever you see this happen it is a good idea to start into evasive maneuvers. If it simply hops up without any prompts just backflip away immediately as it is about to use a belly slam. It is very important to keep mobile and strike just after it finishes attacking or from behind it while it is attacking.
Once the battle is over head to the North and claim the final Animus Stone. Now turn to the South and head toward the Throne. You will notice the switch to the left on the way to the Throne. Pull it then quickly make your way over to the Throne before it finishes rotating. This time the drawbridge is raised so just head to the South and out into the Arena. It is time to fight the boss here, Gnashor.
