Keep in mind also that as you proceed in the game you’ll start seeing new Pokemon in areas you’ve already been through. This means that just because you couldn’t find something worth replacing Darumakka with in Ignis yet doesn’t mean you won’t see something viable there in the future. Keep that in mind and always look back to your older fortresses even if you’ve got one of your other Warriors managing the place- they won’t add Pokemon to rosters for you, just keep the troops training and improving the Pokemon they’ve already got.
Once you’ve worked out who gets which Pokemon for a bit, it’s time to strike at Chrysalia. Generally speaking, if you’re packing Pokemon with an advantage against Bug-types (particularly Fire pokemon, but also Flying-types if you have them) and at least one Electric type to take care of Spheal (whose Ice attack is unpleasant for a Grass pokemon) you only need Link ratings in the low to mid 20's. If your attacking army is more scattered, consider high 20's or even 30 for pokemon that are likely to have especially much trouble.
Either way, assemble your army in Violight, and then select Chrysalia- it’s time to march!
When you give the command to move out, Oichi informs you that Chrysalia is known for Bug-type pokemon, and you should pack Fire, Flying, and Rock pokemon to counter that.... this warning is a little late, but better late than never. She also points out that Grass pokemon and Psychic pokemon (which you shouldn’t have any of) don’t handle Bugs well.
Selecting your forces lets you move on in- to be interrupted by the prancing Warlord of Chrysalia, Yoshimoto. This lardly, fan-waving man babbles about something called ‘Pokemari’ at you, and how much he likes his Pineco... completely ignoring his assistant Sessai until the poor man yells at his lord. He then proceeds to mistake you for that Nobunaga guy, and declares that he’s fine as long as you want to play Pokemari with him.... again not explaining what he’s talking about at all.
That rather surreal moment over with, you’re brought to a Zen garden in Chrysalia, which apparently is to serve as the battlefield. Once the forces of both sides are arrayed, it’s time to fight!
...right?
