Tomb Raider Walkthrough Part 28 – Highway To Hell (Shantytown: East)
Head on east from the Helicopter Base Camp. You will spot a barricade before too long. Blast it down to summon 4 Solarii Soldiers. 3 of them will attack with Rifles and one will come at you with melee weapons. 3 more will come at you from the steps in the far corner. Deal with them all and loot thoroughly.
With those Solarii dealt with head into the building to the South. Climb up to the second floor and head inside. Search this initial room to find a Relic, A Metal Inro. Be sure to spin it around to learn more and get extra XP. After that Exit the building to the South, turn left and climb up to the roof. Look around the roof for the small room on it. Head inside and you will find the third Document, another letter from one of Mathias' men.
Drop off this building to the Southern side and get all the way to the ground. Turn to the left and blast down the nearby barricade wigth your shotgun. Head into this newly exposed area to find the fourth GPS Cache of the area. Head down the steps to the right after that and climb onto the walkway to the left. Go around the nearby corner to find the next barricade. Blast it down with the shotgun to find the fifth GPS Cache.
Head back around the same corner and scramble up the wall to get at the overhang above you. Head around the corner to the left and use the Shotgun to get through the barricade. Head on in and look for the relic box on the crate. It contains a jade Water Buffalo. Just head out to the South with the Relic in tow. Look to the Southwest and seek out the White Cloth on the building. Shoot a Fire Arrow at it to set the building ablaze. After that use a Rope Arrow on the Third Effigy. Jump over to the nearby roof to the East and look around. You will find the Fourth Effigy without much trouble. It is just above a makeshift fence.
With all that done head to the South and toward the gate through the Archways. There is a cutscene and numerous Solarii will come running in on the Ziplines. Among these fair number of Melee and Ranged Soldiers is a Guardsmen who is armored. Just watch out for him and it should be much easier than the Fire Arrow Introduction fight when you first out of the helicopter. Once again, use the numerous Red Barrels to quickly decimate any groups that form around them. A single Fire Arrow will always light it but it takes numerous bullets from any gun to get the same effect. Just find cover and fight carefully. Be on guard for some enemies that try to flank you.
After the dust settles from the fighting turn around. Look for the white edged board that sits near the top of the gate that dropped. With that burned away head over to the left-hand side of the gate and take the Climbing Axe to it. This will let Lara raise the gate to get through to the Ancient Gate Camp.
