Borderlands 2 Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage Walkthrough Part 23 – Long Way To The Top

After everything that has happened you are once again heading into the Arena. There is a lot to do here and you should be ready. Piston is not about to fight fair so stock up on suppleis and head on into the arena through the front for once. Be sure you have an Explosive or Corrosive weapon on hand.

When you get inside head forward to the gate and open it on up. Head into the center and wait through the opening. You are taking on a T-rex. Have

Badassasaurus (Rex)
A few things of note first. The Badassasaurus is resistant to Shock, Fire and Non-Elemental Damage. It is unaffected by Slag and the additional damage from Amp Shields. On top of all that its skin has a chance of reflecting the bullets back at the shooter. It can generate a powerful shield as well though it does not seem to do it much. All this amounts to using Explosive and Corrosive type weaponry on it is the best idea.

Attacks:
Firebreath – It spews a stream of fire from its mouth. Can be disabled by taking out the barrel on the next of the Badass-a-saurus.
Fireballs – It lobs a number of arcing Fireballs.

Burning Spinout – The Badass-a-saurus spins around, spewing fire from its tail pipes. You can disable the flames by destroying the red and brown barrels close to the exhaust pipes. Taking out one will disable the flames while taking out both will stop the spinout attack as well.

Rear Up – The Badass-a-saurus rears up on its front and slams down. This causes massive damage to any nearby vault hunter and sends them flying back.

The easiest, if cheap, way to take out the Badass-a-saurus is to just enter the arena, wait for the introduction to finish then book it back to the entrance. Jump over the conrete barrier and use that as cover. If things are looking really bad then duck underneath the door and take cover in the lobby for the minute. This will give the Vault Hunter full protection against all the Badassasaurus' attacks. This is a great way to recover shields and health. Ammo can still be bought from the vending machine in the lobby. Considering what Piston has brought against you, it is only fair to fight this way.

Piston (The Cheater)
Whenever you finally take out the Badass-a-saurus then Piston will finally make his appearance. The crowd makes no secret of what they think of him. He only has a few attacks but they hit very hard. He has 2 cannons for arms. They need to charge before firing, giving you a chance to start evading them before they begin their assault. They can be fired separately, but most of the time Piston will fire them together in an attack that can nuke most shields. His second attack is to leap at you for a ground pound. This can reach from one end of the arena to the other so keep this range in mind when he is using it. Finally, he can fire a cluster of missiles from his back.

Taking out Piston is not nearly as hard as the Badass-a-saurus. You need to take out his shield (the usual shock-type weaponry will work very well) then switch over to Fire-type and finish him off. That will bring about the final part of the quest. Head on over to the Badass Crater Bar and turn it in to get the Raid Boss mission and unlock the post-game side quests.
