The Last Of Us Walkthrough Part 49 – Chapter 7: Tommy's Dam (Horseback)

Ellie has taken off on one of the horses found in the area. Tommy and Joel are going after her on their own horses. The controls are not different from walking honestly. It is a bit of a shift through regardless. Start off by following Tommy as he goes forward. Follow him out the first gate, over to the right and to the left through the second onto the road. Keep on it until you cross through the tunnel. Keep on the road until you get to the dead end. Turn around and look for a small dirt path on the left after that. There is a puddle of water to help you see it. Start on down it.

The path has a fairly steep grade to it. Just follow it down as it switches back. At the bottom head over to the right. There is a quick cutscene with the horse jumping a log then a bandit lobbing a motolov at Joel. The horse panics and Joel gets thrown but lands safely. He immediately takes cover behind the truck then it is time for another gun fight.

There are 3 bandits to start that you need to deal with. The first is ahead on the right, the others are in the back, around the middle, and the final one is to the left behind the truck above you. Start with the one ahead of you as he can advance and use a Shotgun on you and Tommy. After that head over to the right and climb up the ledges there. This breaks the light of sight from the bandits that are already in the area, giving you a chance at some stealth kills.

Head up to the first big rock and wait by the edge of it. There a Sapper will head in your direction but not immediately face you. Quickly take him out then advance toward the cabin ahead. It is very important to keep out of sight as this fight is a lot easier when stealth is on your side. Keep in cover and wait for the Bandits to advance to you. Take them out one at a time then go inside the cabin to grab what supplies can be found there. Now head behind the cabin and keep to the right. Stay behind the rocks and advance on the final bandit you can see for now. Get behind him and stealth kill him. This finished off the group of bandits.

Head on down the slope to the horses and mount up again after they come up onto the slope. Follow Tommy up the hill and over the log with barbed wire just beyond it. Just follow Tommy forward to the ranch. Once there approach the ranch house on the horse and interact with it to dismount. Head on inside after that.
