History
A player in Minecraft has freedom to do whatever they like. The game was originally developed by Swedish creator Markus "Notch" Persson, using the Java programming language. The game is now developed and maintain by his company, which is called Mojang.
The game was first released on May 17, 2009, in its alpha stage. The beta was later released on December 20, 2010, and the full PC version was officially released on November 18, 2011 at MineCon 2011. MineCon is an event, hosted by the creator of the game, in which Minecraft was released and various other speeches and contests took place. This was held in Las Vegas, in the United States of America.
Gameplay
Minecraft is a sandbox-style building game, in which the player can interact with various objects in a world that is uniquely generated for each new player. The game revolves around creativity; when originally created, there was no direct goal or purpose, and no way to "win" the game. Rather, the player was thrust into a random world and left to do things on their own, with no instruction.
There are two main modes in Minecraft - Survival Mode and Creative Mode.
In Survival Mode, the player starts with nothing in their inventory, and has to acquire everything they need from the environment around them. When night comes, various creatures that are not seen during the daytime come out, and many of these creatures can attack you and damage your health. So, the goal is the evade death; however, there are no instructions telling you how to do this. You can build a shelter, fight the creatures with weapons you create, and possible do many other things that I have not thought of here.
In Creative Mode, the player has an unlimited supply of resources, the ability to fly, and no concept of health or hunger. This leaves you free to build and design things as you see fit, with no fear of dying or losing the game.
Conclusion
Anyway, I hope you all enjoyed the article about Minecraft! It is a very fun and addicting game; having played it myself, I would highly recommend giving the game a try in your spare time. You may just find yourself drawn into the world of creativity!
Until next time...
