The Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House gives players the opportunity to buy and sell in game items and currency for real world cash. This gives gamers a chance to make money doing what they love by selling items found in game. Putting items up on the Diablo 3 RMAH, guessing prices and hoping that someone will buy something is a worthless strategy. You may get lucky and sell a few items here and there, but you should do a little bit of research before placing items on the auction house to get the most money out of your time spent. Here are some tips to help you sell more items faster on the Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House.
Stats are obviously the most important part of trying to sell items. Items with low stats or less than perfect combinations of stats are not likely to sell on the Real Money Auction House. People that are willing to spend real world money on items are looking for top tier items to build their perfect set. Gamers are not likely to purchase multiple sets of items for each character, just to spend more real world money in a few days when an upgrade is available. There is a small chance that someone will purchase these items if they have a high amount of a certain stat that they are looking for, but not for much. With this in mind, you will need to keep up with current stat priority and builds for each class in Diablo 3. With new patches and class changes, players have different builds and look for different stats on gear. You are much more likely to sell items if you know exactly what other players are looking for. Be sure to look out for any upcoming changes in items so that you can either save or get rid of gear before patches are released. For example, in an upcoming patch, legendary items are getting a huge buff. This gives you two choices to make yourself some extra money or gold before this change. You can either salvage the legendary items and save the materials (because they will be more expensive after the change) or you can sell the items now before they become obsolete.
90% of the time you should place buyouts on items. Gamers looking to replace items are not patient and will be more likely to purchase an item with a buyout. You can do a little bit of research and see what similar items are selling for to get your buyout price. You should also set your bid to the lowest amount of money you are willing to take for that particular item. Remember that Blizzard takes out $1.00 and paypal will take out an additional 15%. The only time I would recommend not placing a buyout on an item is if you have an absolutely perfect item. If you have an ilvl 63 item with perfect stats for a certain class, I would recommend starting a bid at a reasonable price and see how far it goes up. I have sold items for over 100$ without a buyout.
Find a farming location that is easy for you. With the recent changes in repair costs, it is not worth dying hundreds of times to kill 1 pack of elites. You will want to get 5 stacks of NV and clear as many packs as possible in the shortest amount of time to have better chances at finding items that will sell on the Diablo 3 RMAH. If you do not already have the plans, save up gold to purchase the top tier blacksmithing plans. Salvage any blue items or items that will not sell on the auction house to craft.
Once the gold sales open up on the RMAH, you will want to compare gold auction house prices to real money prices. If an item does not sell on the RMAH, you might be able to sell it for the same value in gold and then turn around and sell the gold for real money. Use these tips to start making more money using the Diablo 3 Real Money Auction House.
