A Brief Overview of Last Day Of Work

When you're working the entire week; you just cannot wait for the weekend. While most people relax and take it easy, some choose to enter another world, a virtual world where they can be who and what they want to be. Last Day of Work (aptly named) is a gaming studio located in San Francisco in the state of California. They develop games for various operating systems such as Macintosh also known as Mac, Windows, and iOS, among many more. The founder of the company is Arthur K. Humphrey. It was started in 2002 and is still giving gamers extraordinary experiences. A few of the company's games are listed below:

The Games

Virtual Family 1 and Virtual Family 2: Our Dream Home: Both these virtual games are a product of Last Day of Work and give the player a life like feeling of gaming. The game runs on the Windows and Mac operating systems. It was released in the year 2009 on 22nd of April. In the game, players can take the role of a god-like character and, in real time, they can manipulate their little family to work, find a partner, have kids and even earn money. All players start with a certain amount of money and at a particular level of job and can level up as they go along. Their likes and dislikes are provided to the player who can praise and scold their little family. This game was compared to The Sims as it is a similarly based game. The second version of this game is called Virtual Family 2: Our Dream Home.

Virtual Villagers 1: New Home: - This is another virtual game where the player takes on a god-like persona on the island of Isola. The villagers originally belonged to a different island but a volcano had erupted and destroyed their village so they were forced to leave. The player can drag and drop their villagers to make them perfrom specific tasks. The team at Last Day of Work has given the player many puzzles and strategic moves to apply so that full gaming enjoyment is achieved. The game is based on developing and growing of the new village.

Virtual Villagers 2: The Lost Children: - In this, the second segment of the game,  the villagers have already lived on Isola for many generations, but two villagers go through a dark cave and discover the Western end of the island and find a small group of children. The basic objective, as before, is to develop and build the village as you discover more secrets and uncover more mysteries about Isola.

 

Virtual Villagers 3: The Secret City: - In this edition of the already blockbuster of a game, a group of villagers find the North side of the island Isola and discover a hidden, lost city. The Last Day of Work team has slightly changed the objective of the game and gives the player the job to repair the newly found city and rebuild instead of starting from the ground up.

 

 

Virtual Villagers 4: The Tree Of Life: - In this part of the game, the villagers discover that the plants around the island are dying slowly. They set out to the Eastern side of the island and try and find out why this is happening. The team of the Last Day of Work has given the players a spectacular gaming experience in all the editions so far and so is the case with this.

 

 

 

Virtual Villagers 5: The New Believers: - The fifth and last (for now) edition of the game 

was released on 30th December of 2010. In this one, the villagers find a mask in the forest and wonder where it came from. It so happens that the mask belonged to the earlier inhabitants of the island and these natives take the villagers into captivity. In this game, the player is even more god-like as they can use cool powers to help their little villagers interact with their captors.

Plant Tycoon: This is a virtual game by Last Day of Work and is run on Mac, Windows, Pocket PC and Palm operating systems. This games objective is basically breeding and growing and selling of exotic plants. The player plays a nursery owner and is given the responsibility of selling, buying, and taking care of over four hundred kinds of plants including special Magic Plants. The object of the game is to make money by breeding and selling plants, levelling up their nursery and eventually finding the six Magic Plants. Each player starts with a few seeds, some money, a few plants and they can also catch and sell bugs. There are over 40 bugs to be caught! Plant Tycoon is a fun and exciting game that is played by any age group.

These are the top games that Last Day of Work has to offer and I highly recommend any one of them. They're all wonderful to play and are extremely engaging. Top that all off with an extremely affordable price, and you have some of the best games I've ever played.
