I've generally liked most the LEGO games, but Dimensions is the most fun I've had with the series, and that's just the starter pack. Still, if you're thinking of giving it a go, the high price is sure to be a potential issue. Is Dimensions worth £80? For me, the package is excellent and there's no doubt I'd have enjoyed it less had the portal and toys not been included. The build quality is great and I'm keen to see what the add on packs offer.
Hey, I've played a game that wasn't PES! Or Metal Gear! Instead, I spent some time with Lego Dimensions (which was cool, but my stupid adult brain couldn't work some of the toys to life stuff out) and, more importantly, Dark Souls 3. Which is pretty good, as you'd expect.
As Brett noted when he played it, it's essentially Dark Souls's world and systems with Bloodborne's movement. Far more fluid and accessible than its predecessors, it also features new 'weapon arts' (huge, powerful attacks) which are governed by the magic gauge, and is still hard as fuck. No surprises there then. After passing over Dark Souls 2 I'm back on board, especially as this one looks like a true evolution of the series.
