Want to get the most out of your copy of Diablo III? Try searching for these three secret levels hidden in the game. Each secret level has a unique assortment of monsters or creatures, environment details, and rewards. Use our guide to find them all!
The Quality Well level can be found in Act 1, only on Nightmare difficulty. This secret dungeon is random, and it can spawn after starting the quest “The Fallen Star: Rumford at the Gate”. Once Rumford opens Old Tristan Road, you can look for it. Travel along the road until you reach a well in the center of the area. This is where the dungeon will be. If the dungeon at the well is not the Quality Well, reset your game and try again.
When you go into the dungeon, all the monsters will have specific names. These names all belong to members of the Diablo III quality assurance team. Their description will list their specific job title.
Development Hell can be found in the Forsaken Cemetery in Act I, but only on Nightmare mode. You can find it after you start the quest “A Shattered Crown”. It will be in the cemetery as one of the four crypts. If the dungeon isn’t there, reset the game and search again.
All the monsters in this dungeon are named after members of the Diablo III development team. The description of the monster is their job title. The game director, Jay Wilson, even appears as an Elite creature. Defeating him gives you an achievement and a unique banner symbol.
To reach this secret level, which is also known as the Secret Pony Level, you need to create a Staff of Herding. To create the staff, follow these steps:
To use the staff, go to the Act I Old Ruins waypoint. Go southwest of Old Tristan Road to find a cow skeleton. A Cow King ghost will spawn and you can talk to him to enter Whimsyshire. The level is a place filled with rainbows, unicorns, cupcakes, and fluffy animals for the player to kill. For entering the secret level, you get an achievement, a new banner pattern, and a sigil.
