These skills can help your Sim get promoted in their career, make more money, and more. Skills are not automatically unlocked. You will unlock them as soon as your Sim performs an action related to them. Once you learn them, you can check out skill challenges and your progress in the skill bar area. New abilities will unlock as you become more proficient. There are numerous ways to learn skills, and some skills will require certain items or activities in order to unlock them.
This skill helps you form better relationships with other Sims. To learn the skill, simply start talking to other Sims or practice the skill in front of a mirror. You can also use a Charisma skill book. This skill is usually important for business and customer service careers.
This skill allows your Sim to perform comedy routines at certain locations for other Sims. They can earn money for doing this. Start learning the skill by writing jokes on the computer, using a skill book, or using funny interactions with other Sims.
Cooking is a very important skill, as it helps your Sim make better meals, and it helps them unlock new recipes. Plus, they’ll be less likely to burn the house down! You can learn cooking by cooking meals, using skill books, and using recipe books. You can unlock the Gourmet Cooking skill at level 5 cooking.
Fishing allows your Sim to use bait to catch all kinds of different fish. You can use fish to cook. The higher the fishing skill, the better fish your Sim can catch. You’ll also be able to tell what kind of bait is best for which fish. To start learning fishing, use a skill book or head to a body of water to find a fishing spot.
This skill keeps your Sim in shape. Your Sim will lose weight, gain muscles, etc. by using the Fitness skill. This skill is very easy to learn – head to your town’s gym to use some equipment, purchase fitness equipment for your Sim’s home, or go for a jog.
Gardening allows you Sim to plant, care for, and harvest plants. Master gardeners can even make hybrid plants. Start learning this useful skill by harvesting plants in the wild, using skill books, or purchasing seeds to plant from a store or on the computer.
This musical skill let’s Sims play the guitar for tips, make licensed songs to earn money, and entertain Sims. Start learning this skill with a book or by purchasing a guitar for your Sim though the Buy Mode. Just practice playing to boost the skill.
This useful skill lets your Sim upgrade and repair various objects around the house. In the new Sims game, this skill also lets you make furniture for your home. You can use skill books, purchase a Woodworking table, or repair an object in order to learn the skill. This one is important for mechanical careers.
This skill can be learned by playing chess on a board, using the telescope or microscope, or reading a skill book. If you don’t have a chess board, you can find some at the park and learn the logic skill for free.
Mischief is a new skill that will teach your Sim how to be mischievous and pull pranks. You can start learning this skill by using mischievous interactions on other Sims or reading a skill book. Boost the skill and you’ll even get your very own voodoo doll!
This skill allows your Sim to mix drinks. These drinks offer some boosts, like skill boosts, mood buffs, and more. You can even moonlight as a bartender to make some cash. You can learn this skill with books, buying a bar in Buy Mode, or purchasing drink recipes to further advance the skill.
This creative skill is learned through skill books or using an easel. Sims will make paintings that you can sell for money. This is a great way to earn cash, as the better your Sim’s painting skill is, the more the paintings sell for.
The piano skill is unlocked by using a book or playing the piano by purchasing one through the Buy Mode. Your Sim can make some money by performing for other Sims using the piano, but it’s a big purchase.
Programming is a new skill that your Sim can learn from a book or at the computer. Your Sim can use this skill to make lots of money by using the computer, by either writing Plugins or hacking! Technical careers rely on this skill.
Your Sim can learn this skill by using a skill book or buying a rocket to work on. This skill lets your Sim build rockets and upgrade them. You can send them on special space missions to find items and look for aliens and space rocks.
Sims can now learn video gaming as a professional skill. You can learn at the computer, a gaming console, or through skill books. Sims with a high skill can even earn money from gaming through livestreaming and gaming tournaments.
This skill is learned through skill books or purchasing a violin through Buy Mode. There is a violin available for use at the Lounge in Oasis Springs as well. This skill will eventually allow Sims to play for tips.
Writing is a great skill for making money. You can learn it through skill books or practicing it at the computer. Sims can publish novels in different genres to make money. This skill is very important for journalistic careers.
