This guide will provide you with the fastest and least expensive way to level your Mining skill up from 1 to 600. The guide is up to date for WoW patch 5.0.5

In this guide you will find the routes to follow to level up your skill as quickly as possible. The minerals you will collect are used by Engineering, Jewelcrafting and Blacksmithing, and these professions combine very well with Mining.

To start off, visit any trainer in the main cities in your faction (if you can't find one then just ask a guard) and learn Apprentice Mining.

Download the following addon: Gathermate2. This addon shows you every Mining node location on your map. The addon and the databse can be found here.

It is recommended that you buy a Mining Pick. You can buy this from an NPC, they are usually near your blacksmith trainer somewhere. The pick gives you +10 skill points.

Note, because of the nature of this profession, you should know that this guide is first and foremost a zone guide. In it you will find which zones to go to in each level to up your Mining as quickly as possible.
