I love winning match ups on the battleground of Heroes of the Storm, but I love it even more when I’m doing it in style. I don’t want to be just another Diablo, but a Lurkablo. I want to distract my enemies by playing Brightwing as a flying monkey or Stitches in his bikini. And who doesn’t want to show off their skill with any given champion by finally unlocking that hero’s master skin? Fortunately, Blizzard keeps on pumping out variations on their line-up of heroes both flashy and badass.
Here’s how it works. All champions in Heroes have a base design plus 2-4 custom skins you can buy with either gold or cash from the in-game store. And every skin (as well as the base design) comes with two recolored options as well, to help you stand out on the battle field. The base design is part of the initial hero purchase, with the two recolor options unlocking as you level the hero. The master skin and its recolors unlock when you level that hero to 10 and then costs 10,000 gold. The other skins can be bought for real money running from $3.50 – $10 USD, with the more expensive ones also including custom voice overs, ability animations and more. Note that some skins are seasonal (like the Winter Veil themed ones) and are only available during a certain part of the year.
And in the spirit of eye candy, we’ve created lists of skins for every hero. See one you love but don’t like the price listed on the in-game store? Blizzard has weekly sales with discounted heroes and skins ranging from 25-50% off the usual price. These weekly sales update every Tuesday at 2:30pm PT.
