We recently had the chance to discuss what makes the game unique with the production team with the makers of Chaos Heroes Online! Checkout what Myzzrym has to say about the game and why players should be interested!
Hello everyone, Myzzrym here. I’m part of the Production team of Chaos Heroes Online and a huge MOBA enthusiast. Aeria Games is a Publishing company which brings a wide array of games – ranging from PC, browser to mobile games – from Asia to Europe and America.
Quite a lot! History wise, it’s the only other Warcraft 3 DotA map to evolve into a stand-alone (DotA: Chaos) – the first one being DotA: Allstars which became DOTA 2. DotA:Chaos was quite the rage in South Korea back then! Many famous Korean pro players like SKT T1 Faker used to play Chaos.
In terms of gameplay Chaos Heroes is a lot more action-oriented. Many consumables from Warcraft 3 ladder are present in the game and players can buy items anywhere on the map, removing the need to frequently go back to base.
The Korean developers have been working on the franchise for more than a decade now. The original developer (who made DotA:Chaos from the original DotA map), known as Chogosu back in Warcraft 3, is still leading the Game Design team after all this time.
The game has been out for 3 years already in Korea. Notable changes since launch include their partnership with SEGA, which allowed different heroes from famous Japanese games such as Guilty Gear or Blazblue to be implemented in Chaos Heroes.

The original Defense of the Ancients created by Eul of course! The Korean developer team was very eager to bring Chaos Heroes back the “original land of MOBAs”.
While players in Europe always preferred playing -AP (All pick), Korean players almost exclusively played Faction mode (also known as “normal mode” for DotA Allstars players). This made the developers exclusively focus on balancing the game around faction vs faction – Chaos has never been balanced around all-pick mode.
Similar to League of Legends’ Rune System, players in Chaos can get small bonuses from Crafting. Unlike League of Legends where your hero starts with the runes bonuses as soon as the game starts, the Craft bonuses are linked to their specific item and will only grant their boost if the player buys the corresponding item while ingame.
Example: You acquire a “Short Sword” (Magic), which normally grants +18 DMG for 900 gold. You roll a bonus and get +1 Agility. Now, whenever you’re in a game and buy Short Sword, you will get +18 DMG AND +1 Agility (still costs 900 gold).
Craft Items are acquired through quests and at the end of each game. Magic items have one bonus, Rare items have two, Epic items have three.
You can combine Magic items into Rare items, and Rare items into Epic items.
Players will be able to buy skins to change their appearance. Most skins in Chaos Heroes also have new spell effects and new Voice Over.
Toxic players will be punished with chat restriction or game restriction depending on the nature of the offence.
The game offers a free-to-play model with micro-transactions. There will be a free hero rotation as well as many cosmetic items to customize heroes with.
The most massive advantage like in every MOBA is going to be game experience. Anything that can give an in-game advantage will be available with in-game currency.
Chaos Heroes has a healthy seasonal pro circuit in Korea and also hosted tournaments between the best Korean and Japanese teams; eSports is definitively on our mind!
We can’t announce anything now, sorry about that but we will keep you posted.
Chaos Heroes will have numerous updates in the future, with a massive one probably in a couple of months!
Thank all of you guys for reading, and I hope I’ll get to meet you on the battlefield!
