Plants vs. Zombies 2: How to Defeat Weasel Hoarders

Wow, there are a few zombies in Plants vs. Zombies 2 that really give us a hard time. The Weasel Hoarder is certainly one of them. It makes its first appearance in level 22, and it definitely took us a while to figure out how to best destroy it. What does it do and why is it so hard to defeat?

Weasel Hoarder

Weasel Hoarder

The Weasel Hoarder hides in a log with a pack of snow weasels. The zombie itself is not what makes this enemy so hard to defeat - it’s actually the weasels. After a few hits, the log is destroyed and the hidden zombie is defeated like any regular zombie. As the log breaks, however, the pack of weasels is released and truly wreaks havoc! Three lanes will suddenly be overrun by approximately 3 to 4 weasels. They quickly run down the lane and nibble down any of your plants. We found that one tactic definitely manages to destroy them before they can cause any damage.

The more Lightning Reeds, the better!

Whenever you see that a level features a Weasel Hoarder, equip yourself with Lightning Reeds, Bloomerangs, and Chard Guards. You should have at least two entire rows of Lightning Reeds. Additionally place the Bloomerangs if you need to. The Chard Guards can be positioned as additional defense, as they can actually push back the pesky little critters. For us, this strategy worked well in level 22 and 23 of the Frostbite Caves.
