The game promises “quadruple the action” with all those modes to choose from, but regardless of how you prefer to play the game, we believe you’ll find this Blade: Sword of Elysion strategy guide very useful.
In Blade: Sword of Elysion, defense is harder than offense – this makes it no different from most other games with a fighting mechanic. But there are other ways to play defense besides parrying or blocking blows. When your skills are cooling down, you’ll be best advised to launch some evasive maneuvers, such as rolling by tapping the Defend button twice. Remember, you want to last longer and preserve your health.
Still, you’ll want to have a good offensive strategy in this game, and with that in mind, you should practice your counter attacks. This actually has something to do with defense, as you’ll be hitting on the Defend button once an enemy attack hits, so that you can launch your counter attack. Archers would be best to use for counter attacks in boss stages, as their moves are easier to pull off in general.
Gems are the game’s premium currency, and since all premium currencies are hard to come by unless you spend real money, you’ll want to use them only when needed. They’re best used for buying skill points, especially your motion skill, as that helps you inflict more damage and allows you to be invincible for longer. Once again, just to hammer the point home, don’t spend those gems frivolously just because you’ve got a lot of them.
In the earlier stages in an area, Item Cubes could be the game-changer you need. Hold on to them because if you’ve got only two or so stages to go, you can easily use the Cubes in the next area.
When it comes to enhancement materials, weapons are better choices than armor if it boils down to the two types of equipment being of equal grade. Grade C gear, in particular, is best to sacrifice for enhancement purposes. Make sure your gear is enhanced to its fullest to keep your character(s) up to speed.
If you’re able to equip five pieces of gear from one area, that will give you a gear set. Enhance them as much as you could, so that you can increase your offensive and defensive attributes significantly.
Costumes are usually for aesthetic purposes only, but in Blade, they actually serve a greater purpose, which may include inflicting more damage in boss fights, stunning enemies, freezing them, or simply giving you that extra edge in battle.
Lastly, if you’re looking for the best-quality, highest-grade loot possible, play the Infinity Dungeon mode. Yes, it’s hard, but the rewards will make it worth the effort.
