Wayward Souls Walkthrough Guides

If you liked playing Oceanhorn Benchmark Edition because it has a Zelda-like gameplay you will surely love Wayward Souls too with an action-adventure. Here you will experience dungeon running with your heroes as you discover things backstories. Now we want to share to you some tips and tricks of playing the game to ensure that you will play this game with enjoyment of not having a big problem in the beginning.

1. Keep moving. Whenever you are attacking always keep moving out of the way from your enemies. They are reaching you and coming towards you thus the good way to evade their attack is to keep moving out. Keep in your mind that you have only one life per game and in this game there is no HP refilling pick-ups or something that will keep yourself alive in the run after receiving damage. Learning the attack patterns of your enemy is highly recommended. Don’t worry because every monster has their own audio-visual effects that you can use as sign to tell if they will cast an attack especially with special attack so you can prepare for a shift. You should always keep your eye from your enemy especially when you see them preparing for an attack you should move out of their way immediately.

2. Counter Attack. Though this is much risky compare in avoiding an attack alone, this can kill your enemies in faster manner as you will attack them before they can attack you. Even in any other combat based video games, counter attack is always a good technique to use but definitely this will require you higher skills from playing especially with your timing and finger coordination. Counter attack is acquire by hitting them before or you can do it or after they started their attack animation.

3. Empower. You can do greater damage by power attack and this is  by holding down the standard attack button. Upon charging this will require you to wait for a moment before you can cast it. Power Attacks don’t have only massive damage but also can hit multiple enemies with knock back effects that will give you more space to intimidate your enemies.  The only disadvantage with power attacks is that, the enemies have time to hit you while you are charging. Just like our first tip, you need to keep moving and with charging you will be immobile for a while that will let you vulnerable for such attacks.

4. Accuracy. You really need it especially when using power attacks. Yes you can hit multiple enemies but first you need to aim it corresponding with hordes of enemies. The more enemies to be hit the better. Be aware that you can actually change the direction of your power attack in mid charge. The trick here is just to continue holding the attack button to keep on empowering and then try to turn your character in the direction you wish to cast out the attack. Though your position is fix that will makes your vulnerable for attacks but still this is come in handy especially in aiming for a better target.

5. Use your items wisely. Yes you have consumable items to use in battle but you must manage it wisely. If you can still clear the stage without using any boost, the better. You should accept it as a challenge while saving your item for tough battles. Not only items but you should also consider your limited space inventory especially in holding specialty items and ammunition. If you feel that you have still lots of extra items you can use those spare items to give you a good run for that dungeon.

6. Activate Analog Stick. I don’t know if this is a problem to you but if you experience playing Waywar Souls using one thumb each side of the screen, you can use this trick as an easy way to let your left thumb (movement) slip onto your device’s bezel. Well to maximize the trick, you will find it useful for two reason. The first thing is by knowing the game uses an invisible with virtual analog stick. With this you can swipe and hold in one direction continue to move your character. And then for the 2nd tip, just go to the game’s settings and turn on the Analog Stick. By doing this doesn’t mean it will alter how the game is played at all but just puts up a small and visual representation of the analog stick on your screen whenever you touch and hold.

7. Explore like there is no way to return. Actually there is really no way to return once you exit the dungeon. This is not actually difficult to do especially there is only small area to explore. Almost all dungeons have a forked path or two to travel but what seems tricky here is that, when you leave that dungeon there is no way for you to return. Keep in your mind to explore the dungeon thoroughly before leaving where there is a possibility for you to get items that you can use to forge/upgrade your character.
